Ash and Debs came down to Chalfont to visit us for the weekend. Unfortunately it was dominated by hockey and we didn’t get as much quality time with them as we hoped. The good thing was though we managed to get Ash back on a hockey pitch for the first time er since he last played for us – with a snapped achilles in between.
The hockey was unbearably hot in the late 20 degrees C but the opposition also had the same problem. We lost 4-1 which was a real shame but we were pretty disjointed as we have a brand new team playing together.
After hockey we had a wander down to the ‘Water Splash’ Chalfont Park lake which was stunningly beautiful as always. We then had a bar-b-q until late with them and Catherine and Al who arrived.
Sunday morning started exhausted at Junior hockey – 70 of them at the first hour followed by a cycle ride to the Dumb Bell for lunch which was very good – especially as Martin and Connor also joined us. Unfortunately, Rebecca was very tired all day and kept melting down – Dad was pretty grumpy too…
