I thought I’d be blogging a bit more, but seem to be migrating to Twitter! Still they all link to each other so no bother.
The Joint Captaincy with Dave of the 2’s has been up and down – exhilarating one minute and annoying the next with poor availability affecting the whole of the hockey club. However, the buzz of getting another player into the squad to play and play well is just tremendous. I’m also really enjoying watching the youngsters play some superb hockey and the older players helping out and playing well – one of the youngsters is consistently the outstanding player on the pitch. I’m also really enjoying the fun element, we’ve brought back fines after the game and an element of fancy dress – though oddly I was the only one to turn up in fancy dress before the game today – plenty after the game back at the bar. The positive vibes of the two’s is now also translating to performances on the pitch – we drew 2-2 today and came back from 2-0 down showing some real grit and character, it also helped everyone stayed in their positions unlike the first half lol
Today’s fancy dress was Halloween, and Zoe very kindly lent me some items to wear – the picture of me dressed as a witch is on Facebook. Here is the picture of Rebecca and Jamie with Zoe’s broomstick!
Next week’s theme is Guy Fawks night (though no live fireworks – after going to my parents and doing a firework ‘display’ and one of the rockets shot sideways into next door therefore having real fireworks by the pitch won’t be a great idea… anyway I digress) then the following week is Remembrance weekend so poppy’s and maybe army camouflage gear (the opposition will never find us on the pitch surely). I had a vision last night in the middle of Revolutions in Beaconsfield at about 2am of 12 Elvis’s in white jumpsuits turning up – that surely would be hilarious…
Work has been very busy as usual not helped though by not having 24 hours of my live as a result of AVG thinking it found a virus on my machine but turned out it was my scanner drivers – which now doesn’t work.
I also popped down to Eastbourne at the beginning of the week, helped out Sarah (sister) with her laptop and the children had a great time as they hadn’t seen each other for ages. We also walked down to Crowlink and the cliffs – which is the first time I’ve done that. We didn’t realise it was a cliff until we got there and after we reached Jamie who had run very fast to it and had started throwing stones of the edge… palpatations.
Very tired now as I was out late last night but very enjoyable. My calves are aching but I think that was from po-going to the music last night rather than the hockey today…
I must admit I’m rather liking WordPress now be interesting to see how it handles loads of pages rather than just a few. Also need to do a lot more work on the site and see if I can build a revenue stream from it through Amazon affiliate links and Google Adwords.
Plenty more but you are probably bored already – went to Hayley and Vicki’s wedding last week which was very enjoyable and lots of work but will cover that another time…
