Last parish council meeting, chicken pox, greenhouse

I went to my last Chalfont St Peter Parish Council meeting last night - whilst I haven't got enough time to do the job properly I am going to miss not being involved. That will be the last committee I have to resign from.

James still has chicken pox, so i'm at home today looking after him and doing work whilst he is asleep. Hopefully he'll be back at nursery by Friday, I think he's turned the corner anyway. He is walking well now, not having to hold his arms out to balance any more and walks between rooms which is good. This morning he was giving me a container of letters to open up - I shook them and made a noise (as he's not allowed them as he might eat them) but he shook his head and handed them back to me - I was quite surprised that he is now interacting so well - but guess that is normal as he is one year old.



Rebecca is super cool as always - she is saying such funny things to us it is brilliant. They are both waking up at 6 now instead of 7am - 5.45 this morning - they are waking with the dawn I think...

Congratulations to Helen and Neil who are having a baby in September - bumped in to Neil marking the lines at the sports club yesterday.

Thanks for the note orbit - though I noticed the other day it was drained whilst attached to my USB and with PC suite open and synchronising with Outlook. I used to leave my Sony W800i in and it would charge it up - not drain it right down. At least I know anyway.

Re-joined the Chamber of Commerce over the weekend. I was a member but obviously not now as they had elections I noticed in the paper which I wasn't invited along to. Anyway, if you want to be a member then go along to their web site. I went to visit another new client yesterday and they have become member of confederation of small business - and they got some cracking deals - something I will look up and use for future new customers.

Launched a few new sections on Grant and Stone over the last few weeks - including a Cifial range - it looks pretty good for the money. Darren House is the bathroom showroom manager and he has just launched a new photo blog web site - he clearly knows his stuff - so if you ever want some photography high wycombe - then get in contact with him.

Open Spaces, Car radio, weekend

Went to my last open spaces meeting on Monday. I'm still a bit disappointed I haven't enough time to carry on as I do enjoy it. At the meeting we talked about the haywardens being asked to mow the St Joseph's grounds (at a commercial rate), the play equipment and the fact that a group of parents want to try and do something about the Gold Hill play area (they were taken aback apparently when told the cost of new equipment!).

Sarah's Dad is doing well at the moment. He had his operation on Monday and was brought round yesterday and was in good spirits last night - Sarah has been going up each night to London to visit him - so we are all very pleased about that.

I bought a new car stereo last week as I haven't been able to receive FM since I bought the car - and it has a DAB radio in it. Its the first time I've heard one - and I was looking forward to the constant crackle free quality of DAB radio. Obviously I haven't read the manual yet, but all it does if flick between DAB and FM if the signal isn't strong enough - and it is really annoying. At least I can sort of listen to the radio now anyway.

Rebecca and James are doing very well at the moment. James is now able to walk severeal steps at a time - last night we watched him walk half way across the play room - with open mouths!! It is his birthday this Easter Weekend so that will be good - though obviously the family get together will have to be postponed for a couple of months. I am sure as well that when he is asking for sarah he is saying mumma, and dadda for me - before I just thought it was conincidence but this morning he said it differently each time he went to one of us... Rebecca's conversation is now very good. She has a few spots on her at the moment and we were wondering if she has chicken pox but there doesn't seem to be enough. Anyway, we are looking forward to spending a long weekend with them this weekend - no plans as yet though my knees are both on their way down after a bad end to last week and start to this..

The Google update has happened as predicted - though it doesn't appear to have fed through to the .uk results yet - and my web sites have done pretty well - Cater For You is back at number one for just about every search term again - a busy summer coming up. We've just increased the warehouse space to cope as well and looking to take another person on.

A Quick Update - council, james, hockey etc

A quick update as I know I haven't posted anything for a week.

Had a council meeting on Monday evening - not a lot went on - the elections are in May of course - a few are standing down and a few standing again - I was handed a form but declined it - so guess I've decided i'm not standing again. I am still kind of torn by it as I do enjoy it - knowing what is going on in the village I have grown up in - but I cannot justify it any more - even though I do do more that some others!! The only other interesting things were a protest by a resident who is spending a lot of time complaining about the sign post for the new building and that Debenham House on the NSE (Which is opposite where I live) and why that is boarded up - it is leased to the Mental Health Trust for another 70+ years - the NSE has offered a price which they've accepted but some other beaureacrats have said it isn't enough so there is a stalemate - in which time it is vandalised and generally trashed - which is no use to anyone.

Played two games of hockey at the weekend - was pretty tired on Sunday evening - especially as the fabulous short cut I took home past Goodwood races from Worthing must have added at least 45 minutes - well done Watsy.... sorry about that Dave and Mark! Turned up just in time for Roast Chicken at Warren and Zoe's though lol.

Work has been manic as normal - launched a new web site but will do a blog on that later in the week. Another of my customers offered me two days a week at their offices on web design - it is a very very interesting project, but i'm not sure yet.

James and Rebecca have been super cool as always. James has taken several shaky steps forward now - he is also teething at the moment - he hasn't been anywhere near as knocked out by it as Rebecca was though. He is also saying mama and dada - though it might just be coincidence still. They both wake up at about 6.15am at the moment - Rebecca shouting for Mummy or Daddy. Sarah is tired at the moment working hard but generally speaking they are all on good form.

I'm just wondering whether to carry on with this blog - when I started it I was a parish councillor, sports club directory, village appraisal member and on the board at the youth club - i'm none of those now - so not really much to post about in the future...
