Wildlife - Good and Bads - Badgers and Redwing

Redwing
I normally work from home a couple of days a week at the moment and yesterday I casusally looked outside at the holly tree which appears to be teaming with wildlife at the moment after its berries - and I spotted what looked like a thrush. however, after zooming in and checking on the RSPB web site it looks like it is a redwing which i've not seen before - so that is exciting.

On the bad side, the badgers have been regular visitors each night to my garden - and each night trash about 1ft x 1ft of grass - this is last night's visit. I don't think there is going to be much left of the lawn by the spring at this rate!

Badger watching

We first spotted a badger just after we moved in last year and not seen one since. However with the lighter evenings we've been keeping a lookout - and last night we spotted two!!

One was just past the fence which we were looking at then all of a sudden we noticed one in the garden - unfortunately I don't think it spotted us and it came running towards us - so we legged it inside - and it had vanished when we went back out there again!! Unfortunately my camera's battery ran out again - so couldn't take a photo. I think i'm going to have to upgrade my camera soon...

Rebecca is doing very well with her potty training - and almost always uses it now - she doesn't want to wear a nappy at night now though - but its always full in the morning - that is the next challenge. We are off to Cornwall soon so travelling down there will be fun - 'Mummy, I need a wee!' lol.

James is a large grinner as always and is quite vocal now - though not really anything discernable - we know what he is usually getting at though - either food or a ride on Rebecca's tricycle...

Played hockey for the first time in a long time last night - we beat Gerrards Cross Hockey Club 11-2. Apparently the first XI beat them 13-1 or something like that recently - they appear to be a club in steep decline - looking in from the outside. At least they turned up though - South Bucks didn't even turn up for their game against Windsor which was straight after us... I'm looking forward to aching later today...
