It's getting busier - how come????

I'm getting lots of requests to do things - surely people are winding down by now!  Its great though - things are really working for people and down to my knowledge - what a buzz that is.  Going to be a busy day tomorrow though - looking forward to seeing my mate Chris in the white hart for quick lunch time half though.  Not like a couple of years ago when we decided to make it an impromptu Chalfont Web Design christmas party - rather messy that one!

Also tried to install a wireless network round at Sarah's parent's house, the laptop could see the wireless router, but I couldn't get the ADSL modem to work in it.  Ho hum, have to ask a friend I think....

Tuesday thumbnails

Still feeling exhausted from being ill on Sunday - Sarah seems to be almost back to normal though.  We ate our first proper meal this evening.  Really disappointed as the hockey lads played football up at Wycombe this evening and I love playing - really miss it.  Had a great taster last year of course if you dig through these archives but not played again since.  Missed another Parish Council meeting last night - was just not able to get up and out as so wiped out. Second in a row - only missed one previous to that in 18 months.

Speaking of these archives, I was getting some strange referrals on my web site logs and I found a load of spam content in my comments section which was really annoying - not least because it took me ages to delete it all.  Wondering whether to keep the allow users to post comments switched on - but will keep it on for now.

Been busy with work - in box is overflowing again - picked up three new customers in about three weeks - and all my old ones are coming back.  Did some work on British Battles today for the first time since the beginning of 2004.  Trying to figure out how to make some money from the site at the moment - Amazon and Google aren't exactly coining it in - I think i've made 23 cents from Google on watsy.com lol.

Also been busy handling phone calls for Cater For You as well. There seems to have been an update in Yahoo and therefore MSN (both currently use the same databases) and we have 4 of the top 8 (including top three) of our best target keyword - taken a year to get there though - Google is still proving dificult - but reckon if there is going to be another big shuffle or at least some sort of update we'll zoom up that one now.  Amazing, 12-18months ago I could almost guarantee a top 10 on some keywords within 4-8 weeks of launching - lot more time consuming now though - dificult to tell some customers that - especially new ones who obviously want instant results.

Been musing what to do with chalfontstpeter.com as well, got a few great ideas but time consuming and will not make me any money - so wondering why I'm bothering to even think about it!! Just because its there and its a challenge I guess - better than watching TV!

Still haven't done any christmas shopping yet....d'oh.

Getting back to normal

Sarah and I are just getting back to normal after being laid up in bed all day yesterday - Rebecca stayed round at Auntie Julies - what a lifesaver.  Feeling rather drained today, and only 11stone 5lbs, I was 12stone on Friday!!  Also pulled my neck muscles from being so violently sick.  Off back to bed in a minute!

Bit thanks to Martin who came up and helped simon with the fence yesterday anway, it is looking brilliant.

Sick!
Just got up!  Sarah and I were both up all night being very sick - had to give Rebecca to her sister - what a star she was.  We haven't been able to get out of bed all day - apparently a 24 hour bug going around....

Thursday sribblings

A bit of a slow start today, Martin and I were putting the worlds to rights last night down the Waggon - Geoff joined us latter.  We tackled all sorts of topics such as housing, third world debt relief and more besides - and lost a few quid in the fruit machine.

Did update the Cable section on the CSE web site at last which was good to do.  Also baby sat Rebecca whilst Sarah had her hair cut for a few hours.

Received my tax demand yesterday, a couple of K more than I was expecting, so will have to breathe in for January!!

Family Tree update
I consolidated some of the research from a few months ago with a load of information from the 1881 census at familysearch.org.  My work is now very messy as it is getting quite large - it can be seen at http://www.watsy.com/family-tree/family-tree.htm.  Think I'll have to buy some software - this is also coming up as an image rather than text so it won't be indexable by the search engines if someone was searching for it.  I'll do another update of that in six months!!

More photos - weaning...

Sarah tried Rebecca on her first lot of solids today - well feeding by spoon anyway!  I've put some photos up.  I've also put some up of our trip down to Eastbourne at the weekend.

Went over the Ley Hill again this morning - went the back route via Chenies rather than via Chesham - amazingly green - all fields and so rural - I also got lost and ended up in Flaunden which was a very very nice rural village.

Newlands ....
Had a call from BCUC this morning (current owners) and apparently the sale hasn't gone through and yes they will call me when it does.  So we will still be sitting on our hands for a while.  So top marks to them after my previous night's words for calling me back.
