Progress....
So how are we coping with a new born baby!  Rebecca still isn't a week old, but I think we are doing OK.  Sarah is tired, but feeding isn't a problem as it was a couple of days ago.  She does like to be next to us to be able to sleep though - which we are hoping to get over soon.  Had lots of visitors and cards which is very kind and good to see a few people.  Quite a trick typing one handed quickly!!

Its a girl! :-)

Sarah gave birth to Rebecca Kate on Tuesday 20th July at 13.30.  Both are doing very well - though Sarah is very tired as the waters broke 36 hours beforehand and she was closely monitored and in and out of hospital in that time.

Rebecca was brought home yesterday late afternoon and visited by some of the family - photos can now be seen in the photos section.

I wetted the babies head in the White Hart on Tuesday evening - shocking headache the following morning as I'd not had much alcohol for six weeks as on driving duty - not sure I'll be repeating that too often with the baby screaming all through the night (as last night!!).

Many thanks to all of you who have contacted us with support - it is greatly appreciated.

Bits and pieces

After spending quite some time stripping the nursery door, it is now decided it is not good enough - so its going to be painted!! oh well.

Watched some of the cricket yesterday the sports club, Chalfont St Peter reached its highest score of the season (the 2nd xi) and then remarkably had 4 wickets for no runs of three overs - some excellent bowling by Asif.  We left then, and somehow the oppo managed to eek out a draw...

Had a chinese from the Golden River last night - very nice, especially as it was delivered! Then had a few soft drinks down at the waggon - managed to sit outside - remarkable.

Tomatos are now finally going red you'll be delighted to learn...

Its never a smooth ride as a palace fan

You have to be fairly dedicated as a Palace fan, very few ups and quite a few downs.  Simon Jordan has done wonders to stabilise the Palace ship over the last few years, in his own inimitable style.  I did laugh though when I read the latest story - Colonel Gadaffi is interested in buying a stake in the club - hmm.

Still no baby!

Still no baby - and I think I was asked about 15 times yesterday!

Did lots of further amendments on Grant and Stone yesterday - put some of the Eurobath range of bathroom taps and mixers up on their site.

Playing hockey tonight for the first xi- I was truly appalling last time I played and am wondering whether that's it for my first XI future! At the end of last season it was no problem running past defenders as though they weren't there, last time I played I was getting stopped at every occasion - so will be interesting tonight.

Watched the third of the Matrix trilogy last night - rented the second two on DVD from the library on Saturday - just £5.20 for a week's rental.

Nothing new...

Still no baby - two days late now - nothing major - the hospital has given us a date of next Thursday 8pm to have it induced if nothing has happened by then.

Busy day working - met with a new prospect yesterday morning in Marlow - seen a few new prospects recently which is unusual - and with http://www.cse-distributors.co.uk after that.  I added some European country distribution last night to http://www.cater4you.co.uk - so will be interested to see what happens with that - shipping is quite expensive overseas - I did some research, and Parcelforce is by far the cheapest (if you become a member or something) but my experience is their service is horrendous.

The runner beans are enjoying being outside.  Almost got my first outdoor cucumber.

Rigged up a stereo in my study over the weekend - was enjoying listening to New Order Round and Remix 12" last night - haven't listened to that for about a decade, marvellous.  Currently in my CD / MP3 player is David Bowie greatest hits and Graham Coxon's latest Happiness in Magazines album.

The weekend...

Haven't posted for a while, maybe some of you were thinking the baby had decided to pop out - oh no.  It was due today, and the hospital is giving it 10 days grace before pulling the plug on it!  Spent the weekend hot air gunning paint of the nursery door, planted the runner beans (Picked another two cucumbers!) and watched the first two episodes of the matrix - pretty good it was too - never ever able to sit still long enough to watch a DVD so that was amazing.

Also had my shoulder checked out by my physio Terry Warren - he really is superb - his web site is at http://www.thewarrenclinic.co.uk - and if you've got something wrong - well worth a visit.

The Plough - Winchmore Hill

On our continuing quest to consume every last free moment together we decided to visit another place to eat out.  Whilst chatting at a party a week ago, the restaurant manager at the White Hart Chalfont St Giles recommended we visited The Plough in Winchmore Hill.  I had been there many years ago, but that was when Barbara Windsor owned it and ran it as a pub restaurant.  We were rather surprised at the difference - it has been overhauled to say the least - a stainless steel bar top was immediately noticed!

The menu selection wasn't huge - six main courses to choose from, and consisting of things I didn't recognise.  We were rather surprised at the price - there's me whinging before about the Greyhound - this was a cool £70 for the two of us - and no wine!  Side dishes were £2.50 each (ie the Vegetables)!

It was of course delicious, but then again it should be.  Not sure we'll be going back in a hurry (assuming we are able to easily enough!).  Still interested in going to the fat duckling (or something) up in North Bucks somewhere - one person we were speaking to at the same party chipped in with the fact they'd spent over £450 in one sitting between two of them - er, I'll just have a pudding then....
