New web sites

Having not launched many new web sites recently I have suddenly launched a swathe of them!  Today finally sees the launch of http://www.bnrefrigeration-airconditioningltd.co.uk/ - suppliers of air conditioning to domestic and industrial users around London.

Also launched yesterday was a new site for Blue Sky who are based in Marlow and run shipping / container services around the world - the site can be found at http://www.bsiu.com - a small site to start with.

These are in addition to the Quest Marketing site which was relaunched earlier this week.  I'm hoping to re-launch another web site later today or early next week.

On other bits and pieces, picked what I think will be the last of the cucumbers from the greenhouse last night - also another 20 tomatoes - but they are ripening very slowly now so that might be the last crop too.  Its been an amazing year for them and I've had to give away masses of them.

Had a meeting re the tithe barn last night which was interesting.  I ordered broadband for the tithe barn yesterday - finally got through to someone in sales.  Hopefully installing it on the 7th October - there is a youth council meeting being held my web cam later in the month so all needs to be up and running by then.

Popped in the Waggon last night after the meeting for a couple of cheeky ones - Simon is in the process of getting the pub in his name - I'm sure it'll all go smoothly and the regulars down there can look forward to even better service from him - its already very good I hasten to add but listening to some of his plans its rather exciting.

Went for a run last night as well early evening, through the fields and back down Rickmansworth Lane - why do dog owners let their dogs crap everywhere and not pick it up - very annoying when trying to run on the softer grass to keep avoiding it - which by the smell of my trainers this morning I was unsuccessful in doing - really pisses me off how inconsiderate people can be.  If I see anyone I won't have any qualms about reporting them.

BT Broadband and web updates

Helped re-install a BT broadband connection at http://www.turretengineering.com yesterday, all worked fine - also did an update of the whole PC - windows update, virus updates and MSN Messenger.  Will be re-designing his web site soon as well so look out for that.

Tried to phone BT to get broadband for the Tithe Barn - need it in by the 18th - but hung on for about 30 minutes to their sales office and still didn't get through - how bad is that - usually these people load their sales people and not the technical side of things - been the opposite in my experience with BT.  Don't wish to order it on-line as I did with the Parish Council as I want the modem delivered to me.

I can only play for the first xi at hockey this weekend - and I've been selected - maybe they'll change their minds when they see just how woefully unfit I am - and I can't get to selection as Sarah goes and I have to babysit.

Showed my customer http://www.cater4you.co.uk the integration between Actinic and Quickbooks last night, it is ok but it only brings the Actinic sales through as a single customer which is a bit pants - so all sales attributed to "Internet Shopper".  Think that is another couple of hundred quid wasted, might just use Actinic's functionality.

Thanks for the comment Tony, the policeman highlighted several areas which were his priority - mopeds being one of them (the anti social behaviour in the car park, garden of rest and kebab van were amongst the others) and he said that they'd issued five different types of warning / fine or something - not quite sure but they are aware of it.  Again, the resident's need to get evidence and present it to him - or at least log a report so they can act upon it.  On the other things he said he hadn't come across any anti-social behaviour yet - though he suspects his bright yellow jacket has something to do with it - which is good news as the trouble makers know there are Police around monitoring them

Parish Meeting and new site

Went to the Parish Council meeting last night - only 9 of us there - but with a new addition from the Liberal Democrats who won the recent by election.  We met another new beat bobby for Chalfont St Peter, Andy McDonnell (I think - I left my notes in Alan Moffat's car after a swift pint in the Greyhound afterwards!!) - he said that he would like everyone to report incidents as this is the only way he can follow things up - at the moment no one is reporting so it looks like Chalfont St Peter has no anti social behaviour problems or other issues.  He also said that he would return calls to people who reported incidents.  The Parish Council welcomed him and hoped this was all true!!

Sort of finished installing the broadband for the Parish Council in the morning - but the phone is still cutting out the connection - so think I have got a misplaced filter somewhere - not 100% au fait with BT ADSL.  Encouraged the other councillors to receive minutes by email and not post.

Also set up the http://www.questmarketing.co.uk web site yesterday - bit of an improvement over the previous version.

Watched the ladies get knocked out of the cup on Sunday against a team they beat a couple of years ago apparently - they had plenty of chances but just couldn't find the back of the net - they only lost 1-0.

Plenty of things on my to do list this week so I'd better get on with them!

Hockey

Played hockey today for the third xi - a step up from the 5's last week - i was a bit hungover to make a useful impact! Tom even offered to swap with me as I wasn't tracking my marker which was a bit embarrassing.

Tried sourcing some grants for the astro pitch on Thurs and Fri which ended up being very frustrating - Chalfont St Peter qualifies for nothing as we are white and middle class - which I find particularly offensive, not to mention depressing.

I also gave thought to if we go to planning - would we have an NSE style public meeting - not sure I could cope with that - everyone hates change I've noticed so I'm sure they'll hate this!  I'm thinking back to the youth shelter which had everyone up in arms - but reports back seem to indicate only positive!  The 1700 school pupils will be given additional chances to play sport - football, hockey and tennis all year round and secure the future of the hockey club not to mention other clubs - which make up the fabric of the community and therefore some of the property prices.

Maybe I'm just being a little cynical already - not sure how we are going to raise £400k - that is the first obstacle!!

Out and about

Spent the whole of yesterday visiting four clients - a most fruitful day - plenty of work to be doing now!  Didn't manage to catch up with http://www.therapiesdirect.co.uk but she emailed me with some updates and managed to put a whole new range from Plinth 2000 up there.  Will be interesting to see what demand there is for the more medical units.

I used a chip and pin for the first time on Tuesday at a service station - good job I knew my pin number - only know it for one card - best get hold of the others ASAP!

Broadband should be ready and waiting for me to install down at the Parish Council offices, but these things never ever go smoothly!  I'm expecting to spend most of the morning on the phone to BT.

Odds and sods

Today was definitely a bits and pieces day - got a lot done but nothing much to report.  Looks like I'm playing 3's this weekend away to OMT - it will be a slick baby changover at 1.30 lol - maybe have to ask Simon next door to watch Rebecca for 15 minutes!  Finished a book I took out from the library last Friday.  Also heard from my last employers - http://www.questmarketing.co.uk - they want me to tart their site up in a hurry - they are having a relocation party - they've moved to Pinewood Studios - and are getting Peter Rogers the person who directed and products all the Carry On films to attend and give a speech to launch their new home!!  Very good indeed.

Sarah went to fitness training at the club - I merely measured my growing tyre around my waist.... she said we'll be joining Cannons soon in Wexham....

England vs Australia

What a fantastic win for the English at Edgbaston today - and I was there!!

My first ever first class / international attendance and I rather enjoyed it - though have double the amount of work to catch up on.  Went up with Tony, Martin and Cash and watched as the English seemed to make light work of the Australians.  Took loads of photos too so in the next year or so they will appear on the photo gallery.

The Weekend

A thoroughly enjoyable weekend - even though I was knackered (has the record got stuck!).  Friday night we stayed in and watched a DVD - it was rubbish frankly.  Looked after Rebecca on Saturday - took her down to the Sports Club until Sarah got back from her match - then I played at 4.30 for the fifth XI - it would be an understatement to say I wasn't fit - my goodness - amazing how quickly you loose it.  Sat night just fell asleep early! Gave Rebecca 4 fl oz's for her 10pm feed - a record!

Sunday looked after Rebecca - Sarah was helping out at the first Junior morning of the season - 78 attendees - very busy - then nipped off to an exhibition in the afternoon to scout around for products to sell on the web - very interesting it was too.  Flaked out early last night completely knackered!!
