Mareeba launched

Today launched the http://www.mareeba.co.uk web site.  Been working on this for a short while - CRM independent consultant.

I've been flat out the last two days since I got back.  A 1,000 junk emails received on my return and 150 valid emails to deal with - not bad for three working day and the weekend. Blimin eck.  Been juggling about 6 different things through the day and the phone has been non stop - just about to finish off my 26th hour of work in two days!  Cannot keep that up or I'll be ill - but my body is waking up at 6.45am at the moment so might as well get up and do some work - sure it'll return to the normal 8.30am soon!  Got the end of month to do as well...

MG Rover Priests of Chesham

Last Monday I was driving around Park Royal, lost, late for a meeting, when my clutch stuck to the floor of my 2 year old MG ZS.  Bit worrying as it kept moving forward in traffic and I couldn't get it out of first and then kept stalling.  Not very good.

However, I have to praise MG Rover Priests of Chesham, I phoned them up when I got back, they said they could do it on the Friday - which wasn't much use as I was going to Italy on Wednesday AM but wasn't bad considering the notice - so dropped it off anyway, and by Tuesday morning they had fixed it under warranty.

If that isn't amazing service, I'm not sure what is.

Back from Italy / Ravello

Got back from Italy late last night from Drew's wedding in Ravello - hence the reason for no updates in a week.  I'll put up more info today as loads of good stuff happened - but wading through 200 emails - after filtering out a 1,000 junk emails!

Many thanks for Geoff who looked after the house for us - it is tidier than when we went away!!

Weekend hockey and palace

Played for the 3's again yesterday, and for the first time this season, I played in a winning team - 1-0 only, but it was worth the wait.  I played centre half and was knackered in the evening!  The team played well as a unit - shame I'll be in Italy next week.  Edging up in weight as well so need to play as much hockey as I can - going to look round the local gyms next week sometime - Sarah wants to go to one which also had a creche.

Crystal Palace won a second game yesterday - well done to them - Andy Johnstone is second top scorer in the league - have forgotten to note much about them since our promotion last year but we have been completely rolled over yet and the signs are looking promising.  November is going to be really tough though, Birmingham, Arsenal, Newcastle and Liverpool - with a respite with Southampton who'll probably have a fit squad to choose from by then.

Rebecca Watch!

Every day is something new, sometimes something small, sometimes something slightly bigger. For the first time today, she is leaning forward in her chair - trying to sit up - we are ever so excited :-D  So won't be long before she is sitting up on her own we think.  She's now just a shade under 13lbs - right on average!

Still no plumber

Still no plumber after being promised he would come last Friday and then again Monday.  Walked in to the Waggon and Horses yesterday lunchtime and they were saying plumbers were all unreliable at the moment as well - so felt well at home.  I had a house special - omlette, bacon, ham, chips, beans and mushrooms all for under a fiver.  Unbelievably good value and delicious too.  The Goodsphere is still going strong in the Waggon - but its on the floor so not completely effective.

Been busy on the work front - been re-investigating quality links for my customer web sites and turning up one or two good ones.  I decided to pay for a link from Yahoo.co.uk directory (£199 inc VAT) submitted it to a site which was Google Pagerank 4/10 but they put it in another one which was 2/10.  Surprisingly you cannot list in more than one area - bit annoying as it kind of pigeon holes you.  Lucky to get in to Yahoo - considering this was the week Fasthosts decided to be up and down like a yo yo - seem ok again last day or so thankfully.

Still seeing a few things I want to bid on on Ebay, but I seem to be outbid left right and centre at the moment - never mind.  Was going for some old Chalfont St Peter photos so I could post them up on chalfontstpeter.com - Dan Webb has been great and forwarded a few. Amazing how different the village looked though.

Missed the Village Appraisal meeting last night as Sarah had a hockey meeting - thats two in a row now - d'oh - the Youth Action group has of course merged with the Management Committee of the Tithe Barn Youth Centre - everything is being turned upside down there now and very exciting, but alas nothing I can post here at present.

Picked another cucumber today as well - that has to be the last surely....

Email spoofed

Getting loads of bounce backs in my in box today perporting to come from watsy.com for hot stock picks.  Emailed fasthosts (who have been up and down all day again ggrr) and they said my email is being spoofed and basically not a lot I can do about it.

How annoying.

bbbrrrrrr freezing

No central heating still - so my efforts to be efficient and have the boiler serviced back in August hasn't paid dividends!  Been waiting for a couple of weeks now for some heating.  Having trouble typing my fingers are so cold.  Apparently an even colder snap later this week so going to be in trouble - did have the chimneys swept yesterday as well though.  Wondering if the cold snap will kill off the cucumbers and tomatoes finally - picked a load more at the weekend.

Went to club hockey training last night - lots of faces I didn't recognise and everyone seemed enthusiastic - I was there in a helping capacity and rather enjoyed it - I actually did my coaching qualification the same time as Steve Jack who is leading all the coaching at the club - he's er used his though and I haven't.

Was phoned up by a customer yesterday to say he was too busy from the Internet leads that have been generated - had to laugh!  Always great to hear when your work is working.
