Train Ride, Picturesque walks

A splendid weekend was had by all - thoroughly enjoyable - I think Rebecca and James really enjoyed it too.

First off we went to the Pheasant in Chalfont St Giles for a very pleasant meal - it was the annual Birger birthday celebrations. Saturday morning I went and picked the car up and walked down to the car park via a footpath off Chesham Lane down to the A40 - and I was surprised just how beautiful it was (well the top part of the walk anyway) as it looked across the valley to the edge of St Giles and the start of St Peter. So Sunday morning we went for a stroll down it as a family - we didn't get very far - but it still took about an hour! Not too bad considering how cold it was - James refuses to keep his gloves on so he was rather upset at how cold his hands were by the end of it.

After I'd picked up the car we went to Beaconsfield on the train which was the first time they'd been on a train - and I think they enjoyed it. We just missed a train on the way back - but bumped in to clodder and anna which was a very pleasant surprise - not seen them for years. They are very well which was good to see.

Saturday evening we went to the CPSA Christmas Do - which was very quiet - which was a real shame as we'd been looking forward to it for a while. I think it is an indictement of the state of the club at the moment really which is a shame. Hopefully someone will give it some momentum and put it back to five years ago. There is still the spectre of the astro and Newland Park being sold hanging over the hockey club as well...

Sunday afternoon we were outside (except James who was having a sleep) in the garden - Rebecca helped me plant some broad beans - though she later made a mud pie out of some of it so don't hold out a huge amount of hope - and started to clear masses more leaves up!

I'm now almost looking forward to Christmas - though have masses of work to do before then...
