Hampden Arms, Blackberry Picking, Burnham Beeches

What a fabulous weekend - jam packed with things and Rebecca and James had big smiles on their faces all weekend - and went to sleep straight away so must have been tired - but never complained.

Friday night Sarah and I just spent together as we were both pretty knackered afer a hard week - especially after she had to get up so early and work really hard in Berlin.

Saturday morning Sarah went to A & C hockey trials and Rebecca James and I went blackberry picking along Chesham Lane - plenty of blackberries - though hardly any actually made it back home !

Saturday afternoon we pottered along to the Chalfont St Giles Village Show - lovely sunny afternoon and the crowds were out in force. Its a shame that Chalfont St Peter doesn't do anything like that any more - I remember when the floats paraded through the village and there was a massive show on Gold Hill Common (well it seemed massive as I was very small then!). At the CSG show there was a wide range of exhibitors - James and Rebecca loved the animal enclosure - James thought it was brilliant. James has now added another work - again - well it sort of sounds like again... We bumped in to loads of people we knew - including our neice and nephew.

Saturday evening we went to the Hampden Arms in Great Hampden (near Great Missenden) for Cash's birthday meal - and a very pleasant evening it was too. Pilch was there as well which made for a very amusing evening. The food was very good indeed - White Hart prices but with much better quality.

Sunday morning we all went blackberry picking again as they had enjoyed it so much the previous day - I made a pureed banana and blackberry crumble - I don't think I'll be trying that again - not quite sure what I was thinking... then we went off to Burnham Beeches to see Catherine and plenty of others! Had a lovely walk and Catherine / Ruth cooked a delicious meal.

What a fabulous weekend :-)
