Parish Council meeting, walking
My knees are as bad as two weeks ago - i'm not sleeping due to the crushing of the joints at night and my temperature seems to be soaring as well. The person I feel most sorry for is Sarah as she is working her socks of at work and having to run around me when she gets home - what a drag.
I could still move on Monday night so went to my first parish council meeting in a while. There were some interesting things raised for a change:
1. Chalfont St Peter Youth Centre are going to re-paint the subway under the by-pass in August - they did an excellent presentation - though the parish council technically has nothing to do with it - Sue the clerk is constantly telling Bucks CC that it is flooded / vandalised etc
2. 26-3 - the high street is being closed for two weeks except for access to re-do the footpaths around there
3. 14-3 is the next Denham Aerodrome meeting - the parish representative and chairman is Dr John Warder. When I was on the Feast Day stand someone did come and complain that the planes were not following the correct path over the village - so this is where they need to complain
4. The Parish Council is looking at going for quality status - I was encouraged to go for it - but if i'm not re-elected in May there isn't a lot of point. The way i'm feeling at the moment being ill all the time I just cannot do the job justice - unlike when I first started and had no children and worked from home all the time and I did a lot more for the village. I will miss not doing it though and will maybe do it in a few years time.
5. I think I wrote down that the next NAG (neighbourhood policing) meeting is on 8th May 7-9pm. Apparently the CSP one was commented on recently for being the best in the County - so well done to those involved with that
6. The library situation was discussed - the cutting of hours again - the hours are already reduced from a few years ago when CSP library used to open until 8pm on Tues and a Fri for example. I worked there for five years as a Saturday assistant - one of the librarians who works there said CSP is bound to be next as it is a freehold site Bucks CC can sell - GX is on a lease so no financial gain to be had - and all of the resources goes to GX first anyway new books etc. They also mentioned about how the Aylesbury reference library had been beefed up with lots more telephone operators - who were on a higher grade than them - though i've been told this isn't true. I mentioned the libaries a few months ago in AOB and was rather patronisingly told this wasn't going to happen - hmm sees i'm right as usual. CSP will be closed within a few years is my guess. What will happen to the ambulance station i'm not sure - but the site must be worth a few hundred £k.
I don't understand why Bucks CC cannot buck the national trend and cancel the full salary pension scheme and save themselves millions - just like when Gorodon Brown screwed up all private pensions. There will be the odd strike but they will have to do it sooner or later.
Anyway, I had a good weekend - saw Simon on Sunday for lunch and went to Eve's second birthday. Here is a couple of lovely photos to cheer me up :-)

This is James with a balloon at Eve's party. He is standing really well now - cruising along the sofa quickly but not walking on his own - he does walk with a baby walker. He is happy and smiley all the time.

Rebecca loves drawing and painting and being messy - her speech is fab now and we can hold conversations which is so good. Although she also likes to say 'don't like that', 'i want a pretty top' which is quite amusing.
