CSP Village Guides

Almost finished them - the rain held off long enough to deliver to the majority of Misbourne Avenue and the roads leading off it, then Old Mead, The Paddock and Wheatley Way. Took much less time this year compared with last time - but Sarah and I pushed Rebecca and James around in the double buggy and we completed it in no time. We still haven't had one here in Cross Lanes - didn't get one last time either I think.

Quite interesting seeing all the houses though, the area is so overdeveloped with 90% of the houses only having about 20ft of garden - there is one house we saw which must have had about 1/3 of an acre at least from what we could tell - that would be a superb place to live - but it'll probably get knocked down with next door and developed with another close I should think.

Dad is going from strength to strengh - he ate a milky way last night apparently - so he can just about swallow soft food again which is great news - only been since January!! His blood pressure has gone back to normal as well - so they think he might have had the tumour for quite a few years - very slow growing but enough to change his blood pressure - maybe up to seven years. Apparently he has to wait five years to get the all clear - by which time he'll be 74. That is a long way to go though and still loads of hurdles to clear.

On the other end of the generations - James is doing really well - he's sleeping ok from 7 now and waking up at about 12 and 5 for more food. Well done Sarah :-) Anyway here is a picture of sarah with little James:

If you are doing email marketing to sell tickets - would you put as the headline "Don't miss Showaddywaddy" - no I wouldn't either....

Off to Darts night at the Sports Club tonight - will probably last until about 10pm before having to come home to bed lol.

Parish Council AGM

The Parish Council AGM was held last night at the new council offices. It started at 7.30pm and finished at about 9.45pm. The first half an hour was a resume from the three chairman of open spaces, planning and ameneties and finance, then the village appraisal report and finally the chairman of the parish council. It wasn't particularly well attended, about 30 parishioners I would say and half the parish councillors. Then again, i'm not sure how it was promoted either - it wasn't even on the parish council web site (which i er look after!). Following the reports there was an interesting talk from the Chiltern Open Air Museum - though after an hour I was struggling with my cold and clogged up throat - should have taken a drink with me. There were then drinks afterwards - but I was whisked away up to the Village Hall (very kindly by HJ).

Not a lot else happening really - only work and a bit more work. Watched some of the Arsenal final the other day - they were unlucky with some of the decisions - though not the red card really. Playing with 10 against Barcelona is always going to be an uphill struggle. Henry is staying with Arsenal - which is good news for their supporters - though I've always thought he has looked a bit disinterested on the pitch recently - someone at CSE told me Andrew Johnson was lined up to replace him - wonder if he'll still be going there as Bergkamp has retired - and their well used England International Theo Waldcott....

I was told down the pub last night to post more blogs on here as I've been too busy to do it daily recently - hope it isn't putting you off reading it!!

Tri Rated Cables

One of the most popular cables on the CSE Distributors web site is the tri rated cable because of its range of uses and heat resistance. I also upload the copper prices on a regular basis and it is amazing the daily changes in price per tonne - it has on the whole gone up substantially since the start of the year. The same can also be said of oil which affects the prices of the plastic glasses at Cater For You.

I was therefore quite surprised to see yesterday's inflation figures which haven't gone up particularly. I also spotted the 'unemployment figures' have gone up yet again - i've put that in quotes as I wasn't quite sure which figure to take as there were so many....

House move, weekend, sport and work

Work has been overwhelming recently - and not being able (or wanting to) work quite so many hours is hampering me a bit. Have managed to get everything done in timescale just about though. All good fun and very enjoyable I hasten to add. Should have another couple of web sites to launch this week which is good. Registered quite a few new domain names last week which could see about four new web sites being launched in the coming months.

The house move is going ahead rather smoothly at the moment - too smoothly some might say. If all things progress ok then we should have moved by the end of July. I am delighted that we have found a place in Chalfont St Peter - we looked at another house in St Giles as well and was a toss up between the two. Everyone seems to be moving at the moment as well which is quite interesting - mostly over to the Chalfont Common side of the village.

We had a very pleasant weekend together. James is doing well with his routine so far and sleeping ok at night. We had a lovely walk to Roberts Lane this morning as can be seen in the photo (you can't see James though). When we say smile now to Rebecca she scrunches her face up - must be all the photos and the flashes - she gets used to being blinded. We sat at the kitchen table and all three of us laughed for quite a while when we discovered that - its great being able to laugh with Rebecca rather than just at what she does - she can also see the funny side. Her vocabulary is coming on in leaps and bounds at the moment.

Rebecca must be about to grow as well - she has eaten loads this weekend. We had a fantastic roast beef today - from Judds the Butchers in Chalfont St Peter - the meat there really is so much better than anything in the supermarkets. Also popped in the Waggon and Horses on Thursday night and Saturday night - Otty and cash joined me and Martin which was very pleasant.

I've got an unreal busy week this week - looking forward to it - i'm not going to be bored anyway. Not much on at CSE this week though. Sorting out signs and business cards and general stationary and that is about it. Finally sending back the Sat Nav I bought at Christmas which has never worked this week as well. Have all our thank-you cards to write at some point soon as well.
