Still no baby!

Its now a day late - Rebecca went the full 10 days late - so we aren't necessarily expecting the baby any time now! We've almost decided what the names will be - possibly! Sarah is being fab though - she is obviously uncomfortable with lugging it around now.

Went to the White Hart in Chalfont St Giles last night with Martin, Charlie and Geoff - a most pleasant pub and a change. I am starting to enjoy drinking water... think I've decided I won't be turning up for the hockey do on Satuday - maybe I should tout my ticket outside.

Went for a meal at the Ethorpe on Tues evening - Geoff and HJ kindly babysat for us - always good to go out - will be the last opportunity for a while.

Been busy at work finishing things off before the baby arrives - updated the CSE old stock list yesterday - which meant linking a spreadsheet file in to Actinic - took a while to do but got there in the end - if the spreadsheet stock is updated or details then Actinic automatically updates (that is the theory anyway!). Accessories Lounge is doing well now, only Marc by Marc Jacobs search terms is being a bit slow to rise in the rankings... Hopefully be launching another web site in the next few days too...

Another new web site

Forgot to mention I also uploaded a new Ifpra web site at the end of last week - it has a good pagerank of 6/10 already.

Also went to the hospital yesterday for a check up on my new drugs and things - blood test results were fine and the saturday night headaches I've been getting after hockey are probably related but they didn't think the asthmas attacks during hockey games were related - must have been the heavy cold I had.

Dad is now about 25% of the way through his treatment - half his chemo and a fifth of this radio.

No baby yet - now getting very close

The baby is due tomorrow and we are getting very excited about it - or Sarah can't wait to be back to normal size again!

Rebecca is being hilarious at the moment - she has discovered a tiny spec on her knee where she must have fallen over at some point - and it is now her poorly knee. She is rolling up her trousers pointing at it - almost saying poorly knee, then giving the biggest frown / grimace then going for a hug - I must admit I was playing up to it a bit as it was hilarious - but of course she'll get in the habit of it. Hysterically funny though. She has all in all been on very good form recently - I love staying at home working on Mondays when she and Sarah are both at home. I'm going to miss not being at home most of the time for the new arrival - though from a practical point of view I wouldn't get any work done until they both go back to nursery in January and Sarah re-starts work.

Rebecca playing with Popeye:

Still haven't sold the house or the corrado yet - might stop the former as we'd hoped to have everything in motion by now - especially as we haven't got the house we wanted in Chalfont St Giles.

Played our last game of hockey at the weekend - cruised to a 2-1 win over Sonning - Plod said it is the worst he's seen me play - so evidently i wasn't great! Somehow the 1's didn't overhaul Marlow - so will have to try all over again next season - their sixth in that league. There is only one division beneath them with about 7 or 8 teams in it - so wonder if they'll think about restructuring it or merging it in with the rest of the open league as they did with the second xi league. Anyway, the 2's celebrated promotion back to the regional league on Saturday by going out for a curry, few drinks in the Greyhound then off to Winkers. I was of course on water and I went to winkers - the only time i've been sober in there!! No phone reception though so had to leave in case sarah needed to get hold of me.

A few of us had an interesting discussion about the EHA proposals to stop U16 boys and U15 girls playing in adult leagues and decided for grass roots that it would trash the game. Unfortunately the EHA don't appear to give much of a monkeys for non national league clubs - we might be ok but will lose around a third of our teams - and for example if we only have 8 U14 boys - how will they get a game - they won't. They seem to think they'll go for the schools side of things - that won't work either as hockey is way down the list of sports to play - or the EHA will have to build an astro in each school - which won't happen either. Being cynical, as we wouldn't get Juniors in to the adult ranks until they were 16, they wouldn't go straight in to our 1's team and probably wouldn't before they go to University - and they generally don't come back to the area once they've been to University so little point in having a Junior section - a very cynical point of view but with precious resources could be a decision down the line for someone. Some of the ladies and men who are U18 who play in our top teams now certainly wouldn't under the proposed new structure. I really do fear for the sport in this country as it is hanging on by its fingernails anyway - I hope we are very wrong. I waited a while to consider this post - as everyone hates change and thought that might just be my thoughts but cannot see it any differently - this is of course not the views of the club - just mine.

Couple of very small web sites put up recently - Waggon and Horses and Catherine's villa to rent in Croatia.
