Council Meeting
Had the monthly council meeting last night - 1 hours 45 mins - an hour of which could have been avoided as things were discussed in minute detail when that isn't appropriate.
The precept was set last night - 2.5% more than last year - which seems reasonable on the face of it - but we aren't doing the car parking - so that money was quickly spent elsewhere. I would tell you in more detail but I missed the Policy and Finance meeting last Monday so cannot really tell you any more.
The NAG has organised a SID camera for the week of the 22nd Jan in the village - though only during the day - i'd have thought one evening would have been suitable from 9-11pm rather than just during the day time.
Oliver also brought up the idea in the democratic quarter of an hour of twinning with another village - which traditionally is seen just as a jolly for councillors but schools are apparently linking up with other schools to chat over the internet using web cameras - what a good idea.
Lots of proceedural stuff last night though which was immensly tedious.
Sarah's dad is now out of hospital which is good news.
