Weekend Catch Up

Where did the weekend go again? Well Friday night was spent not doing much really - just relaxing after a hard week but awake with a bump at 6am on Saturday morning - my turn on so up and about. Had a great time with Rebecca and James from then until I left for hockey at 11am. We were playing some songs from a particularly scratched Mary Poppins LP i've found - what a giggle it was though dancing around to supercalagragelisticgetsmealidocious (or something like that).

Hockey was a bit of a laugh too - we went straight out at South Bucks - I'm not sure they knew what hit them and we were 3-0 up in 10 mins and finished up 8-0 up - Dan made some cracking saves in goal though to keep us in it unbelievably. He was man of the match. Great team performance though. Don't think i'm going to training for a third week in a row though as Sarah is playing two's this weekend and is going instead of me - besides I have an absolute mountain of work to get through so will be working all hours this week to dent it.

In the afternoon whilst Sarah was playing hockey we went straight to the Clubhouse, quick bite to eat then to the grand opening of the Parish Council offices - I'm afraid we were a little late and Rebecca was more intent on going to the swings instead!! She was delighted with a couple of cakes though - the E numbers kept her going for a bit longer lol. A good turnout and saw a few people I hadn't seen for a while which was good.

Saturday night we just pottered around the house a bit and had a curry from the Barawachi in GX - looking forward to the Tripti reopening - it is clearly the best around.

Sunday was good - though it was raining so couldn't get on with any of the gardening jobs. James had his first mushed carrot - he had his first lot of baby rice earlier in the week - as can be seen in the photo - and Catherine came over for some roast beef. Simon also popped along to borrow our lawnmower - we had to point out it was raining a bit too heavily to do any mowing!!

Then finally some wind down and a few games of snooker in the evening with Martin.

A very pleasant weekend all in all - especially as I spent so much time with the Rebecca and James. James is coming along so quickly now - six months old soon - but sitting up ok, rolling around really well and I'm sure he was crawling backwards at the weekend - which means forwards probably won't be too far away. He giggles loads and is really happy. Rebecca counted from 1 to 10 at the weekend which took me back somewhat - her language is coming along in leaps and bounds but I was particularly impressed by that.

Here is Rebecca running around with the hockey stick and hockey ball
