Ttttoooooo BBbbbuuuussssyyyyy
Is it really Wednesday already? Had a very busy weekend as usual - had a nice night in on Friday with Sarah and a glass of wine and then up early looking after Rebecca and James whilst sarah played for the 2's at Cressex. Exchanged James and Rebecca in the car park and i zipped of to Sunbury to play their 2's for our 2's - we just about edged it 2-1 though we didn't gel quite as well as last week. In the evening we had a very pleasant meal with Annie and Wardy and then up early on Sunday morning again 6ish I think it was.
Used a wood chipper for the first time on Sunday afternoon - what a brilliant gadget that is - cleared away loads of dead branches we'd cut down the week before. Also went to the dump and dropped off the old dog washing bath we had sitting in the garage and then the side alley. It was soo busy at lunch time I had to sit in a queue for ages.
James was six months old at the weekend - he is now rolling all over the place and constantly wants to be on his front and moving around - he can crawl backwards now so it won't be long until he is going forwards - when the fun starts again! He is a very smiley chap and very contented. The weening is going well. The only minor downside is that he still wakes up at 5am for a feed of milk and then wakes up Rebecca too - as per this Monday and Tuesday morning...
Went to the Council Open Spaces meeting on Monday evening - usually a very quick affair - but this quarterly meeting was to decide the budgets for next year and also a number of other matters arising. So we put up the cost of a plot of land for a grave by about 25% (space is limited) and we are much lower cost than other areas. We also discussed the replacement equipment for the slide at Gold Hill Common. We looked at our budget for this year and think we could come up with about £10k (5% of overall budget) but the basic slide is about £20k - Cllr Moffet said the one that would be ideal would be one they saw for £60k with a bit of room for negotiation. This will last 20-30 years. We have a policy and finance meeting next week where I expect to be voted down for the annual subsidise the motorist in Chalfont St Peter to the tune of £25k or so - now if you were a rocket scientist - which is better value for the village????? Still i'm sure i'll be shouted down as normal.
Work has been overwhelming this week, back to 12 hours days.... so i'd better get on with it...
