Week's worth of musings

The last 9 days have flown passed in a whirwind of babies and various bits and pieces. All is going very smoothly here with James progressing well - he was weighed again this morning and was 7lbs 12oz so has put on 4 lbs since being born. There was a small panic on Sunday when he went blue from his feet to his knees, but the Doctor said this is normal if they get a bit cold!

Rebecca has been fantastic with James - though not sure he is really on her radar still at the moment. She likes to hold him and stroke him gently before trying to bounce a book off him - which wakes him up - he is sleeping loads at the moment, mostly feeds, falls off to sleep then wakes up for more food. He is in the habit of waking for a couple of hours at 10pm - 1am!! Sarah is doing better for sleep that last time so far though. The only time Rebecca has thrown a real tantrum was on Saturday when we went round the shops - we got her old buggy out of the boot and she went to get in it - but it was for James. That seemed to set off tears for most of the day.

Popped down to Eastbourne for the day on Sunday - Dad is doing really well so far - about two thirds of the way through his treatment. I didn't realise with chemotherapy you had a line inserted in a vein which goes to the heart for pumping the drug round.

Had a good day yesterday with a few people round for a bar-b-q - Rebecca loves playing with Connor and Eve so that kept her entertained and wore her out - though she still woke up at 6.30 this morning. I'm afraid I have only been retrieving her at 7am most mornings - and am tired on this - Sarah was doing most of it up until James was born - she is a fantastic mother. I did take a few photos of the bar-b-q - but we got the sand pit out for Rebecca and the digital camera now has a few grains of sand on the lens and in the mechanics - whoops.
