Good and bad news

This afternoon my Godfather Bob (who was more like an Uncle) passed away in Eastbourne - he had been ill for a few years but always seemed to recover. He had been an ever present part of our family for the last 30 and more years, enjoying most Christmas's with us, some earlier holidays and introducing me to Crystal Palace Football Club (he used to run the Arthur Waite stand on match days). I will be going to the funeral not next week as we are in Wales but the week after. Even though we knew it was coming it was still a little upsetting.

On the good news side, Ash and Debs dropped in today and they are expecting their second child Mid June. We also popped over to see Rebecca's cousins in Chalfont St Giles today.

Here is a good photo from Christmas morning when we went for a walk at my parent's house in Eastbourne:

An excellent Christmas

We went down to Eastbourne on Christmas Eve at 9am and came back yesterday afternoon after spending a very enjoyable couple of days at my parent's house. We actually had a good run there and back only and hour and a half which was a relief. The time spent there was very relaxing - Rebecca had a brilliant time - some new presents and seeing everyone down there - all very exciting. We also managed to sort out our re-mortgage and my pension whilst down there which was handy!

Here I am feeding Rebecca who is sitting patiently at her chair eating - this was after a Christingle service at Richard and Sarah's local church where she had just run around for the whole service. She is eating really well at the moment - I think she has grown quite a bit as well recently. She also cannot stop smiling - the best bit is when she sees something really exciting - like the Christmas lights on the Christmas tree and she jigs on the spot really quickly with the biggest smile and pointing at the object of fascination - absolutely brilliant.

Both Sarah and I had to do some work today - I uploaded Emma's Personal Fitness web site - and we have to for the rest of the week until Friday when we are off to Wales for New Year and Geoff and HJ kindly look after our house.
