Music, Spam and more

Been rather busy the last couple of days. Loads of packing, loads of web design work and loads of general business stuff - been flying through work, and still found time to tidy up my study and I found my old passport I've been looking for for ages so I can now renew it - it expired in May and I'd looked in the place about 4 times where I found it. oh well.

Also found time to listen to some new music - listening to the new INXS album - and its quite good - the new singer's voice is just like Michael Hutchinsons - can hardly tell the difference. I'm well in to the new Depeche Mode album as well now. Currently listening to Nirvana though.

The Spam levels seem to have gone up recently and it is getting through Outlook 2003's junk email filter which is usually pretty good. Since Monday evening I've received 750 junk emails which were filtered away so probably about 1000 in total including the ones that managed to get in to my inbox.

My knees are finally on the mend - I was able to walk ok within 10 seconds this morning which was good - we have a re-arranged game against Eastcote this weekend - I do hope they don't stuff their team full of 2nd xi players or higher (our 2's are playing their 3's) as their availability might be suspect given its the last week before Christmas and we are top of the league. Anyway, at least I'll be able to walk / run without searing pain this week - I hope! There is a 2's night out in Beaconsfield on Saturday night - we are also out to the CSE christmas do on Friday night. Unfortunately I am on a self imposed drink 'ban' at the moment to try and get better so I guess i'll be laughing at everyone else!!

Apologies for those of you who also read the sports club web site - it would appear Fasthosts did a DNS overhaul and it didn't quite go as smoothly as it could of done - it appears to be ok now - hopefully none of my other domains were affected. The sports club web site is well over 100mb which is massive for a web site. I installed some anti spyware software the other day and it appears to have removed all my data about what i'd published before - so now frontpage has lost all data and it wants to republish the whole web site - d'oh that'll take about a week.

Why would you want to shop in Tesco?

I was cooking with some mince last night that was bought from Judds butcher in Chalfont St Peter and was musing over why anyone from the village could possibly wish to buy from Tesco. I remember when I cooked with tesco chicken or mince I had to pour off the water / fat respectively before I could proceed with the cooking. I bought some salmon the other day from the Tesco Express and even that was awful - we are lucky enough to get salmon from the Fish van in Chalfont St Giles every Monday - there is simply no comparison - I was surprised as I thought even Tesco cannot hamper the quality of fish....surely. Budgens meat is better though still not quite as good as Judds.

Still remarkably busy with all my businesses - well too busy really. Knees are still hurting when trying to stand and walk - they need another run to clear them a bit i think - though that could be painful to start with. Haven't done any christmas cards yet either.

Explosive weekend of hockey and a party

Friday got up and could barely walk which was a bit of a downer, knees got better throughout the day thankfully and I managed to spend the last hour of the working day re-organising the warehouse - so we can now fit in another load more product which is good.

Saturday morning the knees were marginally better though still painful to walk on - almost cancelled out playing hockey but decided i'd go along and see if they loosed up which thankfully they did a bit - though i had to rub a large amount of Ibuleve on them to numb the pain and I'm sure i was rattling with Nurofen and paracetamol whilst hobbling down the wing lol. Still we won 5-1 and I got a hat trick and man of the match - so not all bad.

Went to Sarah's sisters and her Dad's birthday party on Saturday night - had a very pleasant evening (thankfully sitting down for most of it as my knees had caught up with me!). It is always good going round there for a superb meal and the company.

Sunday morning woke with a bang at 6am. We were both woken by the Buncefield oil depot blowing up - even though we are quite a few miles away the house was left shaking and the noise was incredible considering the distance away from us. Knees loosened up through the day - was just about able to take Rebecca round the block as normal which she enjoyed by late morning.

Good to see Matt Stevenson who popped in to update the cricket web site. Simon also popped round in the evening and we had Roast Lamb which was delicious. Rebecca is very at home with him now as you can see:

Might also have found my first employee who can start hopefully around May next year. Been busy doing November's invoicing this morning - just half way through December!! So hopefully he can take a load of work off me though training will take a while and I can start marketing CWD again and do much more on Cater for You.
