NSE planning blocked

We heard on Wednesday that the NSE planning application had been rejected which is fantastic news. They now have a lot of bridges to build with the locals and get back on track with fund raising and properly managing their finances which should have been done 2 years ago. Hopefully they won't submit another planning application.

My d-link router gave up the ghost during the week - my new one duly arrived today and was up and running pretty quickly thank goodness. Also purchased another Monitor for Bourne End so that will have dual monitors - and a sound card and speakers!!

Went to lunch with Sarah and Rebecca today at the Village Hall - only a quick one as Rebecca was getting very tired though it was still immensley enjoyable. She is really happy at the moment and such a joy.

Just found out i've got a council meeting on Monday - debating the car park subsidy, I'll be voting against it (but will be completely outvoted). My reasons for that being it is absurd subsidising the motorist to the tune of £27k a year, when there are existing free parking spaces in the village for more time, the budget has gone up quite a lot since I've been a councillor and we should hand something back (GX have lowered theirs I think I read) or we should spend it on something else other than 30pence for a free hours parking. I reckon you could almost invest in a park and ride scheme for that cash - go round the village via GX station and Uxbridge Station providing a much more environmentally friendly service to villagers and bringing more punters in to the village centre. Are shops really that poor people won't spend 30pence as they do everywhere else - I think not.

No hockey this weekend - was asked to play but not needed in the end - cricket dinner tonight which should be fun.

Plenty of work done this week - J & J (though not yet visible), CSE of course, Cater for you, Outdoor Direct and British Battles amongst it all.

I'm a bit confused about all the publicity surrounding George Best's death - he was an alcoholic, wife beating bankrupt - who squandered a precious talent - and wasted a spare liver - loser - 99% of people would have done so much more with that talent.

Feeling better?

Phew just about - wipe out Mon and Tues though still managed to log 8 hours works on Tuesday. Met up with Grant and Stone in the afternoon which was good - watch out for a few developments on the site soon. Went to John Lewis with Sarah after the meeting as it was just round the corner (well she was loose in there for an hour - I met her outside with a few bags!! Bought myself a new winter jacket which I've needed for a while now.

Plenty of work undertaken on the CSE web site - I'm particularly excited about the new Danfoss Drives section - I've just doubled the number of pages again (sounds good but up to six now lol) and will keep increasing it - had a very good meeting with the Danfoss team last week and have plenty of work to do from that.

Not playing hockey this weekend - I really cannot be bothered at the moment but will get back in to it i hope not least because it is good to get some exercise - either that or join the gym for the same amount of money each money (probably less thinking about it) but I'd never go though.... Down in Eastbourne this weekend - celebrating Dad's birthday (well its not until mid December but won't be down there again until Christmas). Hoping to go to a shop in Eastbourne which sells loads of postcards and other bits and bobs for Chalfont St Peter and one of my clients - british battles. Might also look for some cigarette cards for Martin! going to the cricket dinner on Friday night for a change haven't been to one of those for a few years - used to be dominated by the hockey section!

Insomnia

D'oh been awake since 3.30 - had to get up as the cat came up at 5.30 as i'd obviously forgotten to lock him in the kitchen last night. I woke up and then couldn't stop thinking about work - neck is still painful from swollen glands - so will have to sleep later today.

Something odd is happening on MSN search engine, we received an order the other day from a minor site of ours and it was from an ecommerce system we had hidden away - they had obviously gone to the root of the server and decided to spider it rather than do what Google does and follow the links around ie live pages.

Resigned from the village appraisal committee yesterday - that makes three resignations in three weeks just about - I'm only on the Council now.

Something odd is happening with my D Link router - it appears to have decided not to do wifi any longer - and last night I couldn't get on-line which was rather annoying.

Did I mention Rebecca is now talking properly, she is now saying Mummy, Daddy and hello and I think bye bye. She understands quite a lot - such as away from the television - then looks at us gives us a big smile then carries on playing with it.

Weekend musing

A very busy weekend. Started Friday night - fancied a quiet pint as I'd worked hard all week - so went for a quick one with Simon next door. Woke up with a hangover on Saturday morning! Rebecca and I had a great morning though - Sarah was having her hair cut so we went shopping in Budgens then around the rest of the village - falling asleep half way round (her not me!). Saturday night we went to Duncan Ward's wedding reception - great to see him again and Harry and Shambles (who obviously I see more frequently). Duncan's wife Jo is due to have a baby exactly the same day as Sarah.

Sunday morning Sarah went and did hockey with the U15 girls for a cup game near Milton Keynes - they won 6-0 but sarah was stuck in a traffic jam and didn't get back until 4.30pm after leaving the house at 9am! In the morning we did an hour long walk round to the spar shop 200mtrs away (!) then Rebecca and I went to Black Park with Martin, Otty and Conner, Rebecca absolutely loves being around Conner and they had a great time. I think New Year is going to be brilliant when we go away and with Warren / Zoe and Eve who also goes to the same nursery. Then had a delicious roast beef on Sunday night - though I over cooked it a little - whoops.

Me and Rebecca at the play area in Black Park:

Didn't play hockey on Saturday afternoon as the pitch was frozen - apparently the ladies played a friendly mid-day.... Anyway, to be honest I wasn't up for playing anyway, complete lack of interest - just wondering whether to play this weekend - I much prefer to be playing with Rebecca. Maybe I should just see out the end of the season and then let sarah play again next year and look after two :-) Resigned from the sports club board on Fri, I hadn't been to a meeting for ages, the astro project is going nowhere and i haven't done any club marketing for a while - so no point me being on it anyway! Did I also mention I resigned from the Tithe Barn Management committee as well? So in turn don't need to be on the Village Appraisal group. All a shame but I'm not contributing anything at the moment - but I like to think I did do my share of the work over the years - especially the youth club initially.

Feeling bloody awful today so at home, hopefully I'll get better as I as usual have a busy week. Sarah is also off all week so I should make an effort to do some stuff with her as we've only had one weeks holiday this year - and that was down in Eastbourne.
