Mmmmooooooooo

Rebecca loves her books and her current favourite is one about farmyard animals. Every time we come to Daisy the Cow she now says mmoooo in this very high soft voice - Sarah and I had the biggest smile on our faces each time she pointed at Daisy and did a mmoooo. She is saying the odd thing now which is becoming recognisable - its ssoooo exciting.

Parish Budget, Looking after Rebecca

I was looking after Rebecca all day today - she was pretty cool most of the day a bit grisly towards the end of the day - she's still now quite right - very blushed cheeks so probably still teething with a bit of cold thrown in for good measure. We popped down the village though to the swings and did a spot of shopping - she always enjoys the swings.

I went to the parish council budget meeting on Monday evening - thank you very much to Annie who Rebecca sat for me (Sarah was in Belgium). I drove to work the following morning feeling rather surprised I think is the adjective i'm looking for - each item seemed to be accompanied with more money - I had to leave at 10.30 to let annie go but I was intrigued to see where all of this money was going to be raised from - not through higher taxes I hope. Unfortunately I cannot say any more on-line about specific instances.

Work has been tremendously busy again - there have been a number of new and updated pages on the CSE web site, a new version of the J & J web site should be available in the next 48 hours or so and Cater For You has been exploding - wonder if our competitors will be tempted in to asking to buy us for the turnover and web ranking - would have to be a good six figures though. Google has been bouncing the rankings for my client sites recently and I'm getting different results depending on which computer I use which is intriguing. I'm wondering if it is still settling down or whether there is more turbulance ahead.

Playing hockey this weekend at home for the first time in four weeks - against Eastcote so yet another tough match for us. Hopefully we can bounce back from our first defeat of last week. Then off to Duncan Wards wedding reception straight afterwards in the evening.

Anyway, I'd better crack on with some more work!

Billy Idol Rocks

Went to see Billy Idol on Friday night at Brixton Academy. He was brilliant again - the last time was at the Astoria 12 years ago - which was his last gig in the UK. I must be getting old though as Charlie and I didn't get right down the front and jump around with the rest of the 30 somethings in the crowd!! lol. My ears are still ringing two days later - which is a bit worrying but hey ho.

Played for the second xi yesterday, we lost our first game of the season 2-0 to wycombe. We were all over them in the second half, plenty of short corners but couldn't tuck any chances away - I didn't have a single shot in the match but laid a few beauties up - but had a quiet game. Wycombe came at us hard, were stick tackling at every opportunity and trying to by physical, which we knew would happen but didn't seem ready for it - i love that kind of game - can use my experience against the youngsters trying to be hard - rather amusing as they'll always come off second best with my pace and skill - eg put the ball past them with ease and run straight through them as they obstruct (they are still moving) and then they complain (after almost breaking their stick on my stick trying to get a tackle in as they are half a yard short of pace. We were stupid and were gobby and got two of our men sent of - very dumb.

Off to the rememberance parade in 45 minutes - then straight back to do some more work - how dull. Simon is popping round for roast lamb later tonight - haven't seen much of him recently.
