Tithe Barn Youth Club

Popped in last night for the first time in ages - the internet cafe has now been installed courtesy of the local rotarians. I was staggered at the success of the place - it was absolutely buzzing with youngsters - absolutely brilliant. The team have done really well considering it was barely open just over a year ago.

Old stock is a problem in most distributors. A new feature in Actinic is to link in with an external data source - I've managed to do this with CSE's old stock and it will be appearing on a web site soon. It is also able to link back to the spreadsheet as well which of course can then link back to the centralised business system - all rather good.

Crystal Palace Washout and Poor Driving

Went down to CSE Southampton yesterday to chat to Ray about Marketing the branch there - in particular the Danfoss range of products - some great opportunities there both on and off line. Anyway, we were going to go and watch the Southampton vs Palace game as he has 3 season tickets for them - unfortunately it was washed out and postponed!

Some of the driving conditions down there were the worst I've driven in for a long time - could hardly see beyond the car in front. Speaking of driving, now i'm driving more as i'm going to work rather than just wandering down the stairs, some people's driving is appalling. No wonder we have traffic jams and congestion, some people haven't a clue about how to drive. At the A40 lights in Gerrards Cross for example, some people find it impossible to turn right when there are plenty of gaps - i'm getting so impatient i'm going even when sat behind them - and have plenty of time to spare. Coming up to the roundabout at Beaconsfield seems to be another problem for many people and pulling out - they have to have a two mile gap before pulling out - hence backing the traffic up behind them.

Going to the Tithe barn tonight - the Bucks Ad is coming down to do a little feature on it and how well it is going - from about 8pm. I could do with staying at home and doing a load of work though really and I'm sure i won't be adding any value to the conversations.

Looking forward to the weekend - playing for the 1st xi this weekend - amusing as I thought i might be dropped to the third xi this week!! Away at Abingdon. Don't panic, they are short rather than require my legendary hockey services - some injuries to key players mean i'm required!! lol.

Weekend with the parents

Mum and Dad came up to see us on Saturday morning and have just left - it was great to see them - Mum is much better now so we are able to do a bit more - they have just come back from Hong Kong and China and the photos looked amazing. Cooked a couple of nice meals - lemon chicken and roast beef. Went to the Robertswood swings on Sunday morning - Rebecca had a great time. Speaking of Rebecca, she is getting better at feeding herself though she is still twisting the spoon when she is eating as it gets to her mouth. She can now climb on her little chair herself as well now and is jabbering away all the time - so talking probably isn't far away - we are sure we keep hearing words and phrases but then they go again.

At the swings:

She's just started to enjoy the slide - or daddy has got the hang of getting her down:

I did absolutely no work over the weekend - which was good - and mum and dad did sat and sun morning - well Rebecca woke us up at 5.30 on Sat morning so we did her milk and she went back to sleep again! Dad and I did a bit more on the family tree, but we are getting a bit stuck now - we think we can link one of the early Charles Watts with someone else in Dunton but we aren't 100% sure even though all the clues looks like its them - except they changed their birth place - which was entirely probably back in those days! I'll publish some of the updates later this week.

Dad bought some runner bean canes from the Garden Club - Rebecca was just checking they were ok:

Hockey went well on Saturday - we beat West Hampstead 3rd XI 2-1 - a good standard of hockey - I'm still feeling a bit off the pace - though still set up a few chances and scored myself. My right achilles is hurting again as it has been all through the summer - which could have been the reason for the swollen foot - i'm hoping... The 1's drew on Satuday and lost in the cup yesterday - very disappointing - my only tip for them would be to be more positive - it strikes me there is a lot of negativity - when I played there was nothing but negative comments at me and I ended up having no confidence, being annoyed and not particularly wanting the ball - if you have 6 players like that in a team that could be the reason why they aren't pushing for promotion.

Busy week as always - off to watch Southampton vs Crystal Palace on Wednesday evening - in the Southampton end as usual! I have to finish the Livcom awards web site this week as well - which is a bit of a bind.
