I couldn't believe my mince pies

Budgens are stocking mince pies already - my absolute favourite - well until mid december when I'm absolutely fed up with them.

Well my two week arthritus cycle is due now - the side of my right knee is sore but has only just started swelling and foot shows no signs of swelling so should be a ok for the match at 10am tomorrow morning - and hopefully i'm moving out of the cycle again until next summer. Though plod's stag do should knock my health sideways (yes very sensible).

Went to the White Hart quiz last night for the first time ever - and we won would you believe - i knew and extraordinary amount of the answers - though not the £150 jackpot question - which we also won - so I came home with more money than I went out with which was a result.

Just writing this whilst some more work uploads... a Goodsphere special offer on Cater For You.

Many thanks to Otty for sourcing me some Ted Baker slippers - I was in the pub last night with some slippers - I think I am now officially past my sell by date. Did I also mention I had my hair cut recently and I spiked it up at the weekend - well what was left of it - looks like it has been retreating faster than the polar ice caps - wonder if I can blame the Americans for that as well. All a laugh.

NTL have been a bit hit and miss with sending emails today - had this problem a few months ago - must be their SMTP server is knackered again.

Cafe Uno Amersham

HJ very kindly babysat for sarah and i last night and we went and had a meal in Amersham at Cafe Uno. I used to hold the place in very high regard, it was extremely busy last night but the main course wasn't brilliant - though I would still go back again. It was great to go out with Sarah again - that might sound odd - but we rarely get a chance to go out and away from it for an hour or two and have a proper chat and a laugh.

Been busy as always this week, so much so I forgot to go to a council meeting on Monday evening - maybe it is time to call it a day after all - they weren't at all impressed at my lack of memory. I am feeling rather overwhelmed by everything - then maybe I could concentrate on the Chalfont St Peter web site a bit more and raise cash for the village - probably more beneficial in the longer run. Spoke to someone last night who is going to send me a one page constitution so I can change the wording and use it to get a bank account. I finished retyping the village guide a few months ago - and they are also going to update it for me - as they want the data for a new village guide early next year.

Been very busy with work as normal - J & J Pneumatics web hosting is I think sorted out now so waiting for Google to take it on board - though something strange happens when I just type in the domain - I'll see what happens over the coming week with that. CSE Distributors and British Battles just get busier and busier with the added attention i'm giving them. Cater For You is also as busy as ever - I'm glad the competition are back - I wondered where they were looking at my web logs - hope you had a good holiday!!

Going on Plod's stag do on Saturday - playing hockey at 10am, then off to newmarket for a day's racing then having a curry in the village I think. Wonder if I'll be asleep by 10pm I'm so tired. Plenty of things to do on Sunday so don't want to be too hungover.

Sarah is still doing really well with her pregnancy - she is of course tired but everything appears to be going smoothly again which is good news. About half way already. Rebecca is 15 months old today and coming along brilliantly, she really is so much fun.

Weekend hockey, roast and Amersham Swings

Busy weekend as usual - I had to do a load of work but just didn't get round to doing much. Friday night was spent indoors with a lovely curry from the Tripti!! Saturday morning we went shopping to Budgens, Rebecca loves going round budgens and throwing things out of the shopping trolley!

Saturday afternoon we played British Airways 2nd XI at hockey. They are an asian team with some fantastically skillful players, but when things go against them they just turn nasty - start hitting out and we usually don't get protected by the umpires as they just get called racists (which is sickening). Our centre forward was head butted and verbally threatened in the extreme - fortunately we knew this was going to happen and nobody rose to it - we won 5-3 in the end - but you don't feel satisfied after a game like that as it just isn't enjoyable. Thinking about it, I can't think of any Asian ladies hockey teams - wonder if there are any or if not why not.

Anyway, I was completely wiped out in the evening so didn't manage to get to the Village Hall where most people went. Sarah let me have a lovely lie in on Sunday morning which was much needed - woke up at 9.45 - almost 12 hours sleep. Met up with Martin and Connor at the swings in Amersham whilst Sarah was at Junior hockey and Otty was netballing next door. Rebecca loved following Connor around - great fun though he got bored with accepting stones rebecca had washed in her mouth after a while!!

Geoff and Annie came round in the afternoon and Wardy joined us later for an improptu roast chicken in the evening - which was rather tasty. Thanks to Wardy for the apple pie!
