Rebecca ill, not a lot else

Not a lot happening really. Rebecca was very warm on Wed evening - her cough is also still pretty bad. She woke up at 6am for some milk then went back to sleep until 10.30!! I missed my allergy testing down the health shop as a result. When she woke up she seemed to be back on top form though - could have taken her to nursery - Sarah took a half day off as I was really busy with work. Sarah played hockey for the 3's in Henley last night.

Speaking of hockey, I'm delighted the hockey forum seems to have finally taken off - i hope it carries on - its been hard work putting subjects up there that people want to discuss!!

Knee deep in work at the moment - working on J & J still as well as juggling everything else - also trying to get as much done before starting work at CSE in September. Speaking of knee - it has started getting larger again on its usual two week cycle hence feeling very tired today despite having slept really well recently.

For some strange reason I cannot link or put images in this morning - the top toolbar has disappeared on Blogger.

Is the Mac IPOD dead?

Received my new phone the other day - it is a Sony Walkman thing with 2mp camera. It can hold about 10 albums on it - and has the same functionality as an ipod, so where does that leave the ipod in the next six months? I'd have said it will have to come up with something pretty special (not just memory space) to carry on competing with phones. The same could also be said for digital cameras - though the megapixel is always about 2 years behind. Interesting times for phone makers vs other electronic items. I was also having a chat with Geoff about what else they can fit on a mobile - already astonishing - we thought of GPS satellite navigation as the most obvious.

Played hockey last night for the 2's / badgers, enjoyable again - though went over on my left ankle again. This is becoming increasingly common since I first did it a few years back at Wokingham where if swoll and bruised really badly. Also have an achilles problem on my right foot - I have some in soles to stop shin splints which I no longer have!! Oh the woes lol. That was the last badgers game - thanks to Rickmansworth for hosting it for us and the pizza back in the club house afterwards. It was hard work organising the fixtures and the teams but I think it has been very worthwhile.

Ordered a new scanner yesterday - the old one died at the same time as my hard drive last week. Very annoying.

My sister is due to have her second baby any day now which is exciting. Fingers crossed for her.

Weekend, Rebecca, PC Problems etc

Chris came round and very kindly installed my new hard drive on Sunday afternoon. The reason I couldn't get it installed was because I was trying to put it on a controller that wasn't supported by Win XP and it was a parallel ATA hard drive - eh, no I didn't follow what he said but it was something like that. So still installing things, still finding things missing, and way behind on work! The scanner also came out in sympathy with the old scanner and is broken as well.

Spent a lot of time with Rebecca over the weekend which was great fun. Her asthma is giving her grief though, very wheezy and coughing a lot - putting a ventolin on her isn't much fun. Going to try the Goodsphere in her room - but ideally need it switched on when she is sleeping so the air is still being cleaned for her - supposed to help. The Goodsphere Bubble is coming out on September 6th which will hopefully be perfect. We also got her sandpit out that was given to her by my Mum and Dad for her birthday. She seemed to enjoy it - but it was late Sunday and she was getting tired. She seemd to think the sand was tasty - which wasn't ideal - or she was just tired and kept wanting to put her sandy thumb in her mouth!! Also took her to the swings in Mill Meadow yesterday morning - and whilst there popped in to the Garden Club Hut.

Went to Charlies on Saturday night - his 30th birthday - good to see a few people out and about. We were the first to leave of course!! lol. Thanks to Geoff for baby sitting at such short notice.

Bit of good news, O2 sent my new phone through - the other one wasn't charging properly and Macromedia have said they'll upgrade me to v8 even though I missed the cut off date by a couple of days - result.
