School summer holidays

It must be, second time I've taken rebecca to nursery and the roads were like a ghost town!! Eerily quiet not a soul about.

Picked up a cold which is nice - though I have been feeling well for about 2 weeks now so must count my blessings - knee is on its way up as well. Picking Geoff up at Gatwick tomorrow morning - his plane lands at 4.50am i believe... so a nice lie in tomorrow then.

Not much else to report from yesterday, more mockups for new draft web sites. Cannot believe it is the end of the month already this weekend, scarey.

This weekend is quiet thankfully - I think it is the first weekend we are doing nothing since I can remember.

Picked another four cucumbers yesterday - and first tomatoes are almost ready.

Not really listening to anything specific music wise, bit of The Cult remixed, Scissor Sisters, The Killers is probably the top of the play list at the moment. Need to buy some more CDs really.

Hockey, CDC meeting, MOT and more

Played hockey last night for the badgers - played Eastcote away - bit tricky getting the team there due to various accidents but it got underway in the end! We won 6-0 this time and played some good hockey and put away most of our chances.

Met up with the leisure officer at Chiltern District Council - old misery guts here had been moaning as normal to them about how awful their support is for sport in the area (I've been doing a lot of moaning recently - becoming like Victor Meldrew) and I was impressed with the future plans which are immediate future - they are drawing up plans for the area in the coming months so I'm hoping to be a part of that so I can promote sport in Chalfont St Peter - hockey, softball, cricket, tennis, junior football.

My car is going in for an MOT this morning - its first one - hope it passes ok - the accelerator cable is sticking slightly whilst changing gear which is a bit annoying.

Been working hard all week, but its things in progress like JJ Pneumatics, Constant Air and an overhaul of CSE's web site - that'll be a really big job when that gets underway once we are happy with a look and feel.

Rebecca last night pleased with her hockey stick - bought it in Folkestone a couple of years ago when Sarah was first pregnant.

Hockey, CDC meeting and warehouse

Playing hockey tonight for the 2's against Eastcote in Ruislip - hopefully the sides will be slighly more evenly balanced than the 8-0 defeat we took two weeks ago. Just got the one more fixture after this one against Rickmansworth - wondering whether to organise another couple or just wait until September.

I have a meeting with a leisure officer from Chiltern District Council in an hours time - hopefully something positive will come out of that for sport in the local area and give me an update on plans.

Sarah got home at 10pm last night - quite a long day after leaving the house at 5.45 yesterday morning for Berlin. Think we'll be taking the rest of the week fairly easily after today. Mum suggested not giving Rebecca cows milk to see if that alleviated Rebecca's asthma - so might try that - or just switch back to just formula for the next week or so - though she also has yogurts and things. Rebecca is starting to walk much faster and longer now.

Thinking about getting a cheap warehouse somewhere and moving the web design in to it and also giving my clients an option if they want to start selling things. There are so many opportunities out there on-line to make money through ecommerce that I keep thinking it is the way forward. Haven't finalised my thoughts yet and worried it will push my overheads up a lot - but it might force me to expand and take someone on - a web designer come warehouse person!!! Will also not be quite as comfortable as getting up and wandering downstairs to do my job. Might also allow me to build a better environment for photographing products - though I always recommend Digital Product Imaging who I've found to be brilliant.

Maybe I've found my first employee - someone heading for the interview chair yesterday below and i'd only need to supply a weekly helium balloon:

Asthma? Berlin and parish meeting...

Went over to Constant Air yesterday and progressed the project well. In the meantime Sarah took Rebecca to the Doctors as she is coughing quite badly - keeping us awake during the night - curiously she sleeps straight through it! Anyway, the doctor said she might have asthma so we have to give her some ventolin twice a day - that's a laugh trying to adminster that!!

Sarah is in Berlin today, left the house at about 5.30am - as if she wasn't tired enough already and back late tonight. I'm in all day today busy working and possibly a quick kip at lunch time!!

We had a parish council meeting last night - the last couple have been really quick. I was sitting there wondering why we bothered! It was over by 8.45 - 45 minutes. Most of the work is done in the sub committees - if you want to be a councillor you can do as much or as little as you want! As a consequence not a huge amount to talk about:

- Area 10 speed changes (CSP) are unlikely to happen before 2007 - this has been ongoing for years (well at least the 2 years i've been on the council)
- We hope to be in our new building by the New Year - a lot of work has to be done - Denis said the police had been slow to give the parish council what they would like from their offices
- The NSE appeal wasn't really mentioned - although there are strong grounds against ie the green belt and colne valley it is almost with trepidation that everyone knows it is now landing on Prescott's desk who will think free planning enquiry, free social housing and saleable housing, free infrastructure upgrades and tory heartland - bit of a no brainer really.

Picked another cucumber yesterday.

Today's random photo - down in Eastbourne a couple of weeks ago with Mum and Dad, sister Sarah with bump, nephew Harry and of course Sarah and Rebecca:

Busy weekend

Mum, Dad, Sarah, Harry and bump came over yesterday - Sarah went off to see her friends and we went off and had a meal over at the Coy Carp in Harefield. Very good to see them as always - lovely meal - Dad was impressed with my greenhouse as well. Cucumbers seem to be in full production now which is good - just waiting for the tomatoes now. We did some more on-line research in to the family tree - we got back to 1814 on the Hensons - will update the web site sometime soon with the new information.

Saturday was busy - went over to Catherine 30th birthday party on Saturday afternoon in Farnham Common - very busy with lots of children - must be getting older! Went to Sarah's cousin's wedding in the evening in The Barn Burnham, bumped into a fellow parish councillor there "Andy isn't it?" after I introduced myself - obviously a man of the people!! One of the councillors who joined after me. Good wedding - excellent band.

Last night went up the Village Hall in Chalfont St Peter to see Martin and Neil and Annie and Tony were there as well - most pleasant evening. Very busy up there for a Sunday evening.
