Wakehurst gardens and Camber Sands

Went to Wakehurst gardens with the parents yesterday in West Sussex - and viewed the famous Dinasour tree that has been planted there as of last week.
Today we went to Camber sands beach - a nice day but it was blowing a gale in that particular spot - then went to Rye and watched the world go by with Sarah and a cup of tea.

Parish Council Meeting - oh the merry go round

It was election of officers evening tonight - who was going to be in what positions. Dennis the new Chairman was voted in smoothly - but that was about all that was smooth!! A draft proposal had been drawn up and circulated for which councillors for which roles. I was delighted to be vice chair for open spaces which means i've also crept on to the policy and finance.

However, the Conservative councillors had other plans for all the other positions (nobody is particularly bothered with open spaces it would appear!). Vice Chair was changed to the local Tory party chairman from Peter who was originally proposed. That means the vice of p & f and i think chair of planning was also altered - I was a bit lost by the end of it but they ended up voting each other in. Highly amusing yet sad at the same time.

We also discussed the rota for the litter picking in readiness for the votes for the best kept village but it was stated that the residents don't appear to want to win as in previous years they've picked up the litter then returned two hours later to find freshly dropped litter. Not quite as easy as small villages such as Fulmer who have one village green to maintain - someone commented. Litter picking will be on a rota for five saturday mornings in a row. One of which is feast day on 25th June where I'll be spreading myself no doubt between village appraisal, tithe barn and parish council - maybe even the beer tent - see you there again Dan!!

Rebecca is still out of sorts, producing a lot of wax in one ear so wondering if her teeth are affecting her ear. She was awake a lot again last night. Sarah and I are both feeling a little fatigued shall we say today.

Work was very busy as always - I finally produced a customer newsletter which had some good feedback straight away - always pleasing that it isn't a waste of time.
