Poor Rebecca

There is obviously something up with Rebecca at the moment, she woke up at 4am this morning again and was inconsolable for about an hour and a half then woke up and 8.30 and was just crying again until she fell back to sleept at 10.15. Hopefully just teething but she doesn't appear to have a temperature.

Its raining hard today so doesn't look like i'll be doing the greenhouse. I was ill as well last night, felt a bit funny from 7.15 then just about made it outside of the white hart at 11 to be sick - I'd only had one pint and two bottles of mineral water. There was a police van in the market place so glad I made it a bit further than them!! Seen a lot more police in the village recently - someone at the Parish Annual meeting complained they never see police but to be honest, I've never seen so many in the last month or so.

Chalfont St Peter Parish Council 'AGM'

As the title would suggest the annual general open meeting of the parish council was held this evening - or as it is alternatively known - the fit as many people in a small community centre room as possible and see how many faint (none this year thankfully but it was warm).

Keynote speeches from Open Spaces (mentioning how good the work undertaken by the wardens is), the youth shelter and the positive feedback received, the verges and more by Alan Moffat who I know puts in a tremendous amount of work for the council. Policy and Finance from Isobelle who also puts in a large amount of work on this and planning - of note was the new building we've purchased from a public loan fund. Planning from Dennis (soon to be chairman) who touched upon victories for the council and local residents and the ongoing NSE development issues and Jeremy Banham(current chairman) with more about the NSE. Linda Smith also gave an overview of the Village Appraisal Process and was glowing about the youth action work.

The public then had their chance to say something - of note were the residents complaining about speending on Joiners Lane and Lower Road, and the car parking issues - Lower Road and on double yellows. Apparently Chiltern District Council are taking over the enforecement of yellow lines from the police in September - they will have 6 enforcement officers working the district in shifts over 7am to 6pm to enforce it - eg out of the vale when people think they can sneak on the end of the parking line in the high street, outside the kebab van and mr crusty.

Then we had a chat from a manager at the Colne Valley Trust which was very interesting. Next week's council meeting should be interesting - well as interesting as it gets with the bi annual shift in personnel - apparently I'm going to be vice chairman for open spaces so I automatically have a place on amenities and finance.

Busy day at work today. Over at CSE Distributors this morning - their first catalogue is now nearing completion - so that is rather exciting. Also saw the accountant this afternoon with the end of year accounts for one of my companies and he invited me to play football on Wednesday evenings - which I'd rather like to do. Also uploaded some more information to the county collection web site and produced a proposed new web site as well for them.

Did i tell you the greenhouse has arrived, so hoping to finish early tomorrow and start digging out the foundations and get the concrete to fill it so I can start putting it up over the weekend. I have a solitary cucumber plant so far.

Uneventful day

Nothing particularly of note today. Second day of detox and just about getting over the need for a cup of tea every 10 minutes - Sarah purchased a lemon tea today - somehow the peppermint tasted nicer.

Add a load more information to the British Battles web site - more images principally - very slow scanning iamges from documents. Still have a huge pile to things to do sitting here. Phones were busy again today.

Sarah didn't have a great day - the Thames Valley tournament practice was started last Friday - only it didn't go very smoothly. Sarah and Ian had planned to have several practice sessions before deciding who would go forward to represent Chiltern, however, Steve Beardsmore and Chiltern DC decided last minute to make it a tournament. So last Friday they were left having to hurridly change all their plans and convert it in to a tournament. It feels like all the progress the club had made building relations with schools was wiped out in one evening - through no fault of our own. Sarah was very down about it :-(

Hopefully I'll be off to the gym tomorrow - also have a meeting in the afternoon which I'm looking forward to - County Collection.

Non stop Monday

We are the first day in to a 3 day detox diet - it is supposed to be 3 weeks but we don't think we'll manage 3 days. I'm feeling very hungry. Fruit and Fibre for breakfast, poached egg and salad for lunch and salmon and veg (no potatos) for dinner with only fruit to nibble. No cups of tea either just peppermint tea - is this lack of caffine headache a good idea :s. Every time I open the goody cupboard the packet of prawn cocktail crisps are just staring at me - I could have sworn that they started talking to me at about 4.30 this afternoon. I'm still aching from the 40 reps I did on the weights on Saturday - 40 flipping ups and downs and i'm still aching - i cannot believe it.

A particularly busy day today - the phone didn't stop ringing this morning for people wanting plastic glasses. Also been busy doing other odds and sods for clients - the most major thing I did was for Addpro - updated many of the products and prices.

No meetings tomorrow either so will be able to plough throw a wadge more work - depending on phone calls. My inbox is now under scrolling which is a first for a long time - now to work on getting my to do list under scrolling and the pile of work in front of me.

Just put some photos up on the Sports Club web site of the Darts night we had on Saturday night - very enjoyable it was too.

Palace Relegated

It was a Sunday afternoon of highs and lows watching the results as Crystal Palace were finally relegated down to the Championship. The highs were my marinaded chicken on the new bar-b-q - deliciously moist (yet cooked) on the inside then grilled to perfection on the outside - with an accompanyment of my special salad. Went to the Dumb Bell last night - haven't been in there since they put the extension on the back of the pub. We had to endure the Palace game on TV - I had to leave before the Charlton equaliser was scored. Fortunately I was only drinking water and could drive off and everyone had to come with me!! lol.

Took Rebecca to the swings at Robertswood on Sunday morning - she really loved it - such a big smile :-)

Saturday I went to the gym - you aren't going to believe it but there are new weights downstairs - wondered why it looked rearranged - they arrived 1st week in April apparently... Had a go on just one of them after running and rowing and cycling and am still aching today. d'oh.

Busy week as always - not many appointments, just plenty of work to be getting through.
