Rebecca is crawling forwards!!

She is finally crawling fowards properly - she has been launching herself forwards and then doing one or two moves forward but this morning she went at least 6 forward - then she reached her toy. Mummy who was having a lie in bed was swiftly disturbed to be informed - yes thats right, she is...oh ok then :-)

Anyway, hastily put together some more pages for the Tithe Barn last night. Yesterday I was out in meetings most of the day but managed to finish the updates to the Grohe bathroom products on the Grant and Stone web site and new prices for the radiators.

I've managed to complete an enormous amount of work this week, however, I wrote a list of things still outstanding in Outlook Task Manager last night and I'm delighted to say it was scrolling - d'oh. More than a screen's worth of things to complete. This is in addition to the actions in my inbox!

The best and worst things

The best thing in my world happened again this morning. I actually got up before Sarah (yes she is the best Mum ever) and did Rebecca's milk first. When you go in and peer over the cot sides she moves her arms faster than anything else I've seen with the biggest gurgly grin on her face - i have the biggest grin on my face again thinking about it.

A really annoying thing happened last night, I spent time researching a new digital camera, chose the editors choice - spent half an hour looking for it on the internet - doesn't look like its available yet or any more not sure which - then choose another one (on recommendation from my friend Chris who knows everything about IT and gadgets on this planet) and tried to place the order twice with Pixmania - and twice my credit card failed - a complete waste of two and a half hours - I could have used that time more productively I'm sure.

The Diet is working!!

Since being told at the beginning of March I was looking a little porkier than normal, I've been on a mini diet - cutting down food to normal person proportions in the evening and cutting right back on my booze - having flu has also helped lol. However, I've now lost a stone as of this evening (when I'd just come back from the gym and was my most dehydrated - is that cheating?!).

Been extremely busy the last couple of days - put lots of new images and layout on British Battles and a much enlarged Duravit section on Grant and Stone.

Yes you did read right, I was at the gym this evening - twice in four days shocker. Or twice in two weeks depending on how you want to interpret statistics, or three times in two months.

Adobe and Macromedia: bad news for online tools | The Register

This is rather interesting - Adobe is taking over Macromedia. I am looking at maybe moving away from Microsoft Frontpage as it is rather proprietory and trying to force me on to Sharepoint so I can integrate RSS and XML feeds which is a nonsense - and was looking at upgrading my Adobe V7 publishing Suite to the new CS2 suite. However, Dreamweaver is the de facto standard and I was also looking at purchasing their suite of tools - however the two combined would have been close to £2k which wouldn't leave me enough to pay the mortgage one month or feed the family!!

So this is good news - think I'll hold on - see what they bring out in say six months. I am keen to buy something else, not least because I want a more friendly database integration tool eg for the Chalfont St peter web site which I'm looking at doing by hand eek - for the businesses database and maybe the photos.

I've only gone and won something!!

I've only gone and won something for the first time in my life - I am now the proud owner of a mens third xi player of the year award - which i won last night at the annual hockey dinner dance - I was ecstatic :-) The event itself passed as usual with incident and with controversy - amusing that the youngsters think this year (as with others) is the first time there has ever been anything going on!! One year I believe in the 60's someone offered to drive a lady home and the two were caught on the snooker table by their respective partners - who then also shacked up with each other - so not new.

Went to the gym on Saturday afternoon after Sarah had finished with the hockey - felt massively better than a couple of weeks ago - had no problems with pains in my lungs and felt great and fit.

Today we went searching for turf to fill the greenhouse hole in the garden - went to one on the A40 on the way in to Uxbridge - I was amazed at how large it was - think we'll be going there instead of Rowans round the corner. Going back tomorrow if the weather is ok to pick some up as it is arriving then. Mowed the lawn as well which is looking tip top. In the evening had a curry from the Sreethi which was not particularly great.

Crystal Palace drew with Norwch on Saturday - 3-3 I hope we stay up - results were favourable around us - but i'm not convinced that we are better than Southampton or surprisingly West Brom.

We think Rebecca can now crawl forward one stride but that is it - she can do backwards easy peasy so we think it is only a matter of days now until she susses it. she is unfortunately suffering from a bad cold which seems to be going to her chest and giving her a cough. She is still smiling all the time and an absolute treasure to be with and around :-)

As usual I have an incredibly busy week coming up, plenty to do with my list as long as my arms (yes plural).
