The weekend

Well its Friday afternoon - I've undertaken an enormous amount of work this week - a very very good meeting yesterday evening included. Off to the President of CPSA this evening for pre-presidents day drinks tonight - taking most of the CPSA board in my car and meeting the rest there! Tomorrow is of course president's day - first time I think i'm not playing - never mind.

My knee made a remarkable recovery yesterday meaning it was ok to stand last night - we were in this bar in Knightsbridge last night - The Townhouse - we almost didn't get in though as we weren't in our best city suits!! Very strange bar. Anyway....I must thank Goodsphere for their hospitality last night. I drove back home for 1am last night.

So during the day tomorrow I think the plan is to drive to Beaconsfield with the family, pick up some trophies that have been engraved, then off to High Wycombe to pick up some more then to VW garage to pick up sarah's car. Then whilst sarah is watching president's day and after Rebecca has woken up from her lunch time nap I think I'll get some turf. Then off the hockey end of season do at the club. Sunday will be more Rebecca sitting as sarah is managing the U15 girls who are in the semis against Serbiton.

Busy week - hockey end of season do

Its been a busy week so far - just for a change of course. Not a lot i can tell you about though to be honest. Thinking of how to organise the businesses on the Chalfont St Peter web site - speaking of which I wonder how the CSP Chamber of Commerce AGM went last night - be interested to know what that was like.

Off to a meeting this evening in London to talk about the Goodsphere we distribute - will be rather interesting I think. I'm missing a Sports Club meeting tonight as a result of this.

My knee is still hugely swollen - I could feel the fluid squeezing and crushing everything last night when I was standing cooking and washing up. I hope it starts to go down by this evening!!

The end of season hockey do is this weekend - I hope it is a good one - I'll be driving anyway trying to preserve my immune system - just wondering whether to take my huge digital camera down - there has been a definite dearth of hockey photos for the web site this year.

Anyway, best get on, I have a meeting with someone new at 10 this morning and a scarily long list of things to be getting on with.

Google.co.uk down your local | The Register

This is interesting - the death knell for the Yellow Pages on-line - Google has already taken most of their traditional business.

Poxy knee / immune system

My knee quite unexpectedly swoll up overnight on Sunday and last night worsened - having trouble walking this morning. All down to my immune system and the fact I have psoriatic arthritus. First developed it when I was 20 after I had glandular fever - apparently it lays dormant in you (if you have it obviously) and something like that can kick it off. I only had 3 beers on Sat evening and a couple of glasses of wine and baileys on Sun and its kicked it off again. So will be driving to the end of season do this Saturday at the hockey club - second time in 10 years I've driven - I guess that also marks the end of my 10th season at the club. A & C hockey club's 5th season next year (already!).

Launched three web sites yesterday - First Fit, Hayle Lets and a small ecommerce section on British Battles. The latter should be interesting as it is the busiest web site in my overall portfolio of around 60 web sites (I think of the top of my head that is the number i currently mange).

Dinner Party?

After looking after Rebecca again yesterday - and what a pleasure it was - she is so much good fun. We had Cash, Simon, Martin and Otty round for Roast Lamb last night - delicious it was to. We even used the crockery we had for our wedding (probably for the first time) - accidentally broke the sugar bowl - whoops.

Went to a customer in High Wycombe today and he said things have slowed down, same from another customer this morning and one last week - think things out there could be interesting straight after the election. The housing market is definitely juddering to a halt - and no matter how hard they try - no housing / economic cycle has ever seen a soft landing - so this could be the very top. Even more interesting is if the Conservatives get in to power as they will have to deal with the fact labour has stuffed the public sector with jobs - so it is now 50:50 public private when it was about 15% less than that when they were in power. So if they shed those jobs on their bureacracy cuts - that is another huge hole in the economy to fill which combining with the housing market will be dificult days ahead.

Just moved this weblog back to where it was, didn't think it would be possible to upload it as an asp file ho hum.

New Web log

I've moved over to blogger.com for my weblog as the old one was being hit by spammers quite badly. You can still see the archive over at www.watsy.com/weblog/journal/
