NSE planning blocked

We heard on Wednesday that the NSE planning application had been rejected which is fantastic news. They now have a lot of bridges to build with the locals and get back on track with fund raising and properly managing their finances which should have been done 2 years ago. Hopefully they won't submit another planning application.

My d-link router gave up the ghost during the week - my new one duly arrived today and was up and running pretty quickly thank goodness. Also purchased another Monitor for Bourne End so that will have dual monitors - and a sound card and speakers!!

Went to lunch with Sarah and Rebecca today at the Village Hall - only a quick one as Rebecca was getting very tired though it was still immensley enjoyable. She is really happy at the moment and such a joy.

Just found out i've got a council meeting on Monday - debating the car park subsidy, I'll be voting against it (but will be completely outvoted). My reasons for that being it is absurd subsidising the motorist to the tune of £27k a year, when there are existing free parking spaces in the village for more time, the budget has gone up quite a lot since I've been a councillor and we should hand something back (GX have lowered theirs I think I read) or we should spend it on something else other than 30pence for a free hours parking. I reckon you could almost invest in a park and ride scheme for that cash - go round the village via GX station and Uxbridge Station providing a much more environmentally friendly service to villagers and bringing more punters in to the village centre. Are shops really that poor people won't spend 30pence as they do everywhere else - I think not.

No hockey this weekend - was asked to play but not needed in the end - cricket dinner tonight which should be fun.

Plenty of work done this week - J & J (though not yet visible), CSE of course, Cater for you, Outdoor Direct and British Battles amongst it all.

I'm a bit confused about all the publicity surrounding George Best's death - he was an alcoholic, wife beating bankrupt - who squandered a precious talent - and wasted a spare liver - loser - 99% of people would have done so much more with that talent.
