Weekend hockey, roast and Amersham Swings
Busy weekend as usual - I had to do a load of work but just didn't get round to doing much. Friday night was spent indoors with a lovely curry from the Tripti!! Saturday morning we went shopping to Budgens, Rebecca loves going round budgens and throwing things out of the shopping trolley!
Saturday afternoon we played British Airways 2nd XI at hockey. They are an asian team with some fantastically skillful players, but when things go against them they just turn nasty - start hitting out and we usually don't get protected by the umpires as they just get called racists (which is sickening). Our centre forward was head butted and verbally threatened in the extreme - fortunately we knew this was going to happen and nobody rose to it - we won 5-3 in the end - but you don't feel satisfied after a game like that as it just isn't enjoyable. Thinking about it, I can't think of any Asian ladies hockey teams - wonder if there are any or if not why not.
Anyway, I was completely wiped out in the evening so didn't manage to get to the Village Hall where most people went. Sarah let me have a lovely lie in on Sunday morning which was much needed - woke up at 9.45 - almost 12 hours sleep. Met up with Martin and Connor at the swings in Amersham whilst Sarah was at Junior hockey and Otty was netballing next door. Rebecca loved following Connor around - great fun though he got bored with accepting stones rebecca had washed in her mouth after a while!!
Geoff and Annie came round in the afternoon and Wardy joined us later for an improptu roast chicken in the evening - which was rather tasty. Thanks to Wardy for the apple pie!
