Newbury races, hockey and more
The knee did swell up over Friday night, but fortunately I was able to bend it more than the last couple of cycles. Had an ok game - nothing spectacularly - either good or bad!! We beat Staines 3's 4-1 though which was good so we now have daylight at the top of the league. The 1's lost again which is a real disappointment, I was really hoping they'd get promoted this year.
After we finished the hockey we all hot footed it to Newbury for Plod's stag do - a very enjoyable day - though I lost about £80 - so don't ask me for any racing tips is the only decent tip I can give - I'm sure one stopped to eat some grass half way round it was so far off the pace. Anyway, in the end we just spend most of the time in the beer tent - we could have gone to the poachers then nipped in to the bookies every 40 mins! Great day rounded off with a curry in the tabla - though should have gone home after that rather than back to the white hart!! Fortunately I woke up at 7am this morning ... Knee is a bit of a mess as well today.
Rebecca is yet again being super cool - I was a bit of a vegetable today but she was ace. Anyway took a few photos of Rebecca for the first time in a while - but below is a photo of some of the chaps at Newbury:
