Sunday's hobbling, Monday's work
Sarah went to the second Junior hockey training on Sunday morning at Newland Park - a very good turnout with plenty of new Juniors - we've had a few phone calls and emails asking for details. I think the 5-12 year olds now have an extra quarter of an hour this year to match the time of the 12+ age group (do 12 year olds go to both sessions?!)
So anyway, I had the pleasure of Rebecca for Sunday morning - my foot was on the way down (ish) and my knee still very large. I dropped some post off then went to the swings at Robertswood / Cheena Meadow. I cannot believe I was the only person there - it was only about 10am - amazing. Anyway, Rebeecca absolutely loved it. Below is a photo - as you can see I tried to get her to walk / run around (which she can just about do) and we spent at least an hour there. When I offered to take her out of the swing she just shook her head and put her arms by her side - hilarious. She also enjoyed the slide for the first time. Then we walked back. Noticed a public footpath I'd not seen before on Denham Lane which I couldn't see where the obvious entry point was.
Spent the afternoon and evening working as I'm still behind with stuff. Had massive problems with FTP'ing updates to my client sites - until late on I opened port 21 on the firewall - I've no idea though whether that is dodgy for worms and things - hope not - anyway the situation has improved somewhat but still not exactly simple.
Yesterday was mostly spent working - - got a fair amount done - but couldn't get to sleep thinking about what still had to be done! Had to miss the parish council meeting due to the volume of work - first one since July so a shame. Still wondering what to do about all my voluntary things - think I will re-visit it in a month and evaluate what I'm doing and how things are settling down.
We had the carpets cleaned yesterday so the lounge was empty and we chased Rebecca ran around with us pretending to chase her - I'm not sure we've all laughed as much in one hour as that - what absolutely brilliant fun - hopefully do the same again tonight before she goes to bed.
Sarah is off in Copenhagen next week for a couple of days - the day of Rebecca's MMR - so I'll be taking her. When it actually comes to your turn there is still the doubt because of the media furore but will have to get it done.
