Europe's Squabbles

I was just reading about how Blair is currently tackling Europe. I think he has got it spot on so far - I was impressed how the French managed to turn round their defeat and blame it on Britain and almost get away with it. But giving up our rebate just so it can be spent on French farmers does seem bizarre to me - and cannot believe some MEP's cannot see through that. Quite astonishing. Quite rightly we should give up our rebate to help some of the new countries whose poverty is quite astonishing compared with ours but not for the benefit of French farmers - so Blair is right in saying the whole structure should be looked at. Quite interesting though looking at the arguments behind CAP - some African countries would benefit due to opening of markets and the world price not being artificially altered but some others would not benefit such as the Caribbean - I think that was correct - read it yesterday.

Did quite a bit of work yesterday, close to finishing another small project off and quite a lot of odds and sods. That is mainly my work these days - existing clients wanting amendments, updates etc My in box is still overflowing and the projects currently in progress is still scarey. The CSE blog was updated yesterday and an additional cable - the PUR Cable.

Not heard back from CDC yet...
