The Beatles - Please Please Me Stereo

This is the rarest record ever to be on full issue in the UK (apparently). It is the first issue of The Beatles Please Please Me Stereo.

It came into possession via my Dad who was working as a young lad in the IT Department of EMI Manchester Square. With money to burn he was one of the few people to have a stereo record player in those days and decided to purchase this LP from the staff shop on the first day of release. I believe he also told me he saw the photo for the cover being taken from his office. He used to walk past The Beatles on may occasions in the corridors but never bothered to get their autographs as everyone thought it was just a passing fad!! Strange addition to his collection as he never really had any other LP's. This came back to the fold after his brother died in 1993 and we discovered he'd been "looking after it!".

Was searching for a value and someone on Ebay was selling one in worse condition and reckoned another had been sold for over£8k...blimey. Its now hidden somewhere safe i.e. not here! The write up also said there were only 900 ever issued - the vast majority of which I'd assume are in dedicated collector's hands. There was a large write up on this record in Record Collector a few years back, but I've chucked it!
